Hi and Wow, that’s absolutely stunning. I love every single thing about it, except the inevitable price tag. Is it usually everyone’s experience that when the figure is this expensive, the prototype photos aim to be as accurate as possible?

Hi, welcome to the forums!

I think it depends on the company. I think the protos always try to put the best pictures out and that includes the best paint apps and presentation of the product. Often there is some type of drop in quality when mass produced as it's the factory producing the figure even for the high end figures. Unless the one artist creates all of them, there will be inevitable differences.

I'm not sure, but i think the other company isn't doing any more and JND took over.

It's weird, i kinda prefer the regular edition (non silicone head) as opposed the the collector's edition. The non silicone head just looks sharper.

For $759 USD (Collector’s Edition), this should have real hair (no excuses).

Lovely, but I don't get the price.

i know JND have announced a few releases, but have yet to put anything out.
they have an impeccable reputation for statues, but im not sure this is a good start for them in 1/6?
im still unsure who exactly this is supposed to be from the last time it was announced and then the company folded before even doing its first release.
i like it as a $200 figure which lets be honest, is what this is and thats assuming its a seamless body? there has been nothing said about the type of base body they will be using. at $800 i cant see many preorders for this flying in. especially considering that the mu & bing have just been released which actually look better for a 1/4 of the price.
i also agree that the silicone head looks a bit soft, which given the material i guess is natural.

Paripi Yu was a PO from a year ago, and now they add another year to the wait. I know it's because the proto was passed to another company, but still.

The headsculpt still is gorgeous, and also it is rare to see a nice kimono that fits perfectly on a 1/6 female figure. Most of the time it looks baggy.
But for the price they def could have used rooted hair on the deluxe. + sculpted hair seems pointless on a silicon face imo.
