And Moonbase Alpha Male, is that the RunningPress Teeny-Tiny Turntable you had mentioned to me before?  It looks perfect in scale in that photo!

I think you are right, on both counts, but I will let MBAM confirm it for you, just in case I have misidentified the turntable.

Sorry for any inadvertent deletions.

Next time, please be very specific on posts. Being the janitor here, I clean up messes if and when they occur and go onto the next job.

Yeah, sorry. Yes it is. Because Reverend Spooky is totally The Man on 1/6 music subjects, and the Radio Kings rock, I wanted to give him a complete answer with a better pic of the Running Press compared side by side to a couple of other 1/6 turntables I have, that I'm trying to find in my stuff. Reverend, if that delay made it seem I was ignoring your straight-forward question, I apologize.

No apologies necessary!  Not an assumption I would ever jump to.  I know you guys have my back around here.

I put off ordering one for a bit after the 1st time you mentioned it, planning to come back to it.  But seeing it here, with a figure, I ordered immediately.  I should have from Amazon tomorrow.  Really excited to see how it looks with one of my custom records.

No pressure or hurry, but if you do decide to do some comparison photos with your other turntables, I'd love to see them.  And you're right, I am a fiend for anything rock and roll related.  Hoping to get some more Radio Kings action up soon.  Thanks again man!

And no worries DFC! Sorry if it sounded like I was complaining. Trust me, nothing too profound was lost.

I posted this on OSW once upon a time but here it is again - a dirt cheap plastic bike (you can find them on eBay/Ali Express for about £1/$1) which was completely dismantled and repainted, with some thin glove leather stretched over the saddle.

I used the wrong primer and had to redo it as all the paint started peeling off which was incredibly frustrating.
It was obviously designed for a Barbie or smaller doll (I got one in a set with a knockoff Liv doll which looks like a teenager compared to Barbie) but a 1/6 scale male figure could just about get away with it.

Nice bicycles. Maybe one of the Asmus teenager bodies would work better for scale.

I bought this $2 Barbie sofa assuming that it would be ok for 1:6 use. It isn't. It is too low to the ground and the back is so flimsy that it can barely support its own weight.

So I made a wooden base to raise it higher and to give the back some support.

Moneypenny gave it to 007 as a housewarming gift.

Nice set-up. Moneypenny has an odd sense of humor to get him a couch like that. (Maybe she was hoping James would throw her down on it -- finally -- and have some fun...?) Very Happy

Lol! That’s such a creative solution, and one that I’ll bear in mind. Smile

LOL... is Daniel Craig learning how to play James Bond by watching an old 007 film? Nice find, nicer mod, and great set up.

Really good stuff! It's amazing how a nice repaint on some of those cheap looking plastic furniture/prop pieces can give them so much more life!

Customized 1/6 scale turntables. Started with an old Barbie set, repainted with Valspar silver (my favorite), a bit of grime, new styluses, and audio meters. What could these be for? Maybe we’ll be seeing the wastelands' radio station soon...

The original one doesn't look too bad. At least it isn't bright pink and yellow like a lot of those accessories.

Agree. The original was decent enough for a Barbie set, but of course the good Reverend has turned it into a grimy masterpiece. Well done!

Really cool turntables, Rev. Did you add the lights in the meter screens, or was it already like that?

Thank you!! I'm dying to finish the radio station. I kinda hit a wall where I've made everything I had a plan to make, and now I need to figure out what else it needs and how to do it.

shazzdan wrote:The original one doesn't look too bad. At least it isn't bright pink and yellow like a lot of those accessories.

It really doesn't, right? I didn't have to do much really.

GubernatorFan wrote:Agree. The original was decent enough for a Barbie set, but of course the good Reverend has turned it into a grimy masterpiece. Well done!

Thanks much Guv! I think a little grim makes everything look a bit more real (That, or I just need to clean more...)

Stryker2011 wrote:Really cool turntables, Rev. Did you add the lights in the meter screens, or was it already like that?

Thanks Stryker! The meters are 2 layers, with some clear plastic on the front, and then I cut out the window on the origianal and printed and added the meters from the back. The space between gives it real depth, and the light is actually a part of the print! I couldn't even believe how realistically it photographed.

Now THAT's how you do it!
Excellent prop!

Rotan furniture (in plastic) and basket (in vinyl) which I bought more than 20 years ago.  Origin probably China. Original colour was pink, I repainted both with a simple layer of Humbrol Earth colour. Added some towels and a piece of clothing.
The drawers open and the ring handles move, more realistic than some "real" Barbie items.
Shown here with a "petite" Tbleague figure.

I am looking for the "Barbified" thread as I have lots more clothing and accessories than just that (night)dress. Among which Barbie original and repro "vintage", Sindy and others which don't need to be de-Barbified.

You could always create a thread for 'useful Barbie and/or doll items that don't need to be altered'. Smile

That subject has already been discussed at the beginning of this thread and I'm not in favor for creating yet another thread either. 'Diluting" too much the general subject, expect almost no views, even less replies. Been there, done that. I have a thread at a 3D site and despite its subject - creating and giving away 3D freebies - it's been almost a one-man show for 10 years and 20 pages. The freebies have some success though, especially when NSFW Shocked
