When I get mine, which will be a pale, I'll do a photo comparison between it and my other figures under carefully controlled lighting and post the pics. There are a few things to note about the pics I've seen so far that need to be addressed and chief among them is that the light is both weak and uneven. Another factor is that the lighting appears to have color casts from the environment in which the photos are taken and I'll try to address this through the use of neutral backgrounds.

Overall, the figure looks very nice and I'm eager to get mine. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome comparison, @brassco . It really shows how masculine the hips are in the older models. The new body is so much nicer! Thanks for taking those!

Sorry for being ignorant, but what comic does that superhero mom com from?

Yes, exactly. This has been one of my biggest issues when it comes to the tbleague bodies, especially those almost cartoonishly muscular/busty ones. I have nothing against muscular ladies, but ugh...those tiny hips! Not only does it make them look overly top heavy, but also highly unrealistic. I have always found it rather distracting, and not in a good way. It's simply not how we are physically structured. Of course, some of the other tbleague bodies are a lot better in that respect, but it still bothers me every time I see one like the s21b-esque body above.

But yeah, that comparison pic is great and I'm happy that this new body exists, as it seems so much more 'natural' and less exaggerated in its proportions from what I've seen. There are still some minor gripes I have with it, such as the rather thick/pudgy wrists, but that's a pre-existing issue I have with several of the other tbleague bodies which are otherwise my faves (s17b, s25b, etc). But it's going on my wishlist for sure, and I'm very much looking forward to eventually deciding on a figure to use it for! Smile

ThePhotogsBlog

I'm thinking that the clearly wider hips an waist of this figure will not only allow, but probably necessitate using trousers, especially military ones, originally intended for male figures. If this is the case; if male trousers fit well on this figure, then that will be very welcome as there are a lot more parted out sets on the market intended for male figures than female ones. I look forward to testing this hypothesis.

Good idea, TPB! That could also fit your post-apocalyptic scenario.... maybe she’s scavenged some men’s clothing at some point. Smile

How do the skin tones match up Brassco, do you notice any difference? It could just be a trick of the lighting of course, but the hands & feet on yours look like a better match to the body than mine... colour me confuzzled.

Oh, and how does she move? The arms are a little stiff on mine, still - but that could just be because they're shorter and plumper than usual.

I'm beginning to wonder if I have a unique one! Which is a great excuse to buy another one in a month or two...

I don't see any skin tone difference on the hands and feet to the body. There is no "reddish" color that i can see. The arms are flexible, as usual.

It may be difficult to tell the men's from the women's military clothing at this scale, with the exception that the men's are wider and longer. I'm hoping the figure's extra girth is sufficient to fill the "wider" while the longer part is easier to deal with, even if it involves a pair of scissors. One thing I haven't tried that I should though, is to make clothing, at least some of it, look mended...patched up.

We'll see what happens when she comes in. Should about 2 weeks, or slightly less. Agghhhh! Why must it be so long?

Hi, With regard to clothes fitting, I'm not saying this would be a problem but in real life I'm 5'10" tall and I have a real difficulty getting jackets etc to fit especially the sleeves, so the reverse may be true for this figure.

So you may find the more shapely figures might have some of their sleeve length taken up by the upper body? Or it maybe that the sleeves might be too long on some tops an example my ex husbands shirts were a mile too long for me and we were similar heights

Just a couple of things from RL which you folks especially the fellas may not be aware of

Because I'm working on a post-apocalyptic collection in which I am assuming many people will be wearing scrounged and sometimes ill-fitting clothes that have been either let out or taken in, or cut down in length, this might not be a problem. I am not averse to making slight alterations to some of the clothing, and in fact, have been tinkering with the idea of some of it having even a patched-up look. The figure in the link for instance is clearly wearing WWII German male over trousers, but they have been made to fit the fig somehow.

https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/517069600968703396/

The same can be said for this figure:

https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/517069600968703038/

This clearly does not have the pin up sexy look of some of my other figures, but figures dressed this way could easily represent a grottier, dirtier and less well dressed and equipped group of survivors, even adversaries to the first group.

Yes, well the first figure I bought was one of the newer, smaller figures, not realizing that the clothes on the market would be kind of large on it, (among other problems) but after taking in the shorts...a process that took a bit of time and effort, I was able fit them reasonably well, so it won't be my first rodeo if I have to do a bit of work fitting available clothes to the new figure. It might be easier in fact to fit male clothes than female as it is generally easier to take in than to let out. We shall see, and I shall report when it happens.

Totally agree. He seems to particularly like using German WWII over trousers in a variety of camouflage patterns and sawing off and gluing together bits and pieces of different weapons to make all new weapons. He has a very distinct, instantly recognizable style. I won't say I intend to emulate it; I never like ripping off other artists, but I am inspired by his work.

Curiouser And Curiouser... I did notice from your pics that your S29 seemed to have more compatible hands & feet than mine, so I had to ask. I've found a more sympathetic replacement for the hands with an Ace Toys set I had lying around but I'm still searching for feet. The pink/red tint in the skin is very subtle on mine, so again, I had to ask. I'm wondering now just exactly what I've got, here. Smile

Oh, and I also finally figured out what the problem with my S29's arms was - there was some odd shoulder-dislocation problem in both that meant they were backwards-facing underneath the skin!  Shocked   It was as though whoever product-tested them got them in a twist and just left them that way. Luckily they didn't break under the strain or tear the skin as I managed to get them the right way round eventually, and now they seem to be moving smoothly and working OK.

Apart from the arm trouble, all these little unique traits are fine by me - like I said earlier, a great excuse to get another!

Interesting about the arms... I once received an s25b that had a similar sort of leg issue. Glad you were able to sort it out!

And regarding the skintone... do you think it's possible you might have been sent a pale version by mistake?

I think it's still too dark to be a pale, and the box was correctly labelled for a suntan. As Brassco's looks like a fairly standard suntan I'm beginning to believe I've got some sort of mutant here (lovely as she is)  Smile . As it happens though I've got a pale S28 on it's way to me right now, so I should know for sure in a week or two!

Even if I do end up with two the same, it's no big thing. I can mod one with tatts at the very least and I'm also toying with the idea of plumping one up a little more around the belly area (certain Not Necessarily SFW 'invasive procedures' can achieve such results if carried out carefully).

Well, I've just received mine today less than a week after ordering it from Giantoy in China. That was fast! Mine is an SB28A or pale version and I'll post some pics and do an in depth review over the weekend or the coming week as I am on holiday next week. A few quick observations however.

1. Like GeeWillikers, I totally love the body form. It's more realistic than previous ones and while in no way really plum, looks very much like a more average female body.

2. The hands and feet are noticeably darker than the body, but this is more apparent under natural than artificial light. I have yet to test under camera flash which has a colour temperature of around 6000K, but will shortly. My suspicion? Metamerism, which is the way different pigments reflect different colors of light.

3. As suspected, it is much harder to put some tight fitting clothing, especially short pants on this figure than on others and it took me about half an hour's worth of effort and struggle to get her pants on. Be warned therefore that some clothing will just not fit.

More later.

I got mine today, too, also from GianToy. S29B -- suntan, as I've got little or no use for the pale bodies; the new suntan is usually almost too pale anyway.

It fit almost perfectly with the first headsculpt I had lying around and tried on it, and looks quite good. The attractive curves require some special posing, but are attainable. The height is pretty good too, a compromise between the overly tall older bodies and the more recent petite ones. So here are a couple of quick photos.

Wow! That seems the perfect head sculpt for that figure. The one I put on mine might be very temporary. Though it's a pale, it's noticeably darker than the body. Otherwise, it would be just perfect. Will post photos later.

I am coming to also love Giantoy as a source for figures. They seem to have everything in stock, ship free, and ship quick. Their prices can't br beat either.

Thanks for sharing your impressions, guys...and thanks for those comparison pics, GF!

I'm so glad to get further confirmation that the new body is indeed in between in height! It will really add to the overall 'realism' of one's figure line-up, imo.

Welcome. And I agree completely. To be honest, the S24A-S27B bodies seemed just a little on the short side for me (especially S26A-S27B), although certainly an improvement upon the earlier overly tall ones; so this one seems like the best option height-wise. For example, look at the comparison between the female bodies and M33 which (without the damn ankle extenders I refuse to use) is not really tall, as far as the male bodies go. S28A-S29B do claim to reflect an "average" woman's height  of 168 cm in 1/1 = 28 cm in 1/6 -- this according to one of the two instruction/caution sheets it comes with (something new for female bodies, if I remember correctly). With the head sculpt I used, the S29B body measures about 27.5 cm or so. (Again, the only difference between S28A and S29B is the color.)

Yeah, I agree , the new body does seem a more realistic ‘average’ — I only wish (hope?) that tbleague might put out more bodies in other shapes in this same height range!

S29 has bigger feet.😡  I noticed that only when I wanted to put on her boots. They stood in the display case with dress and no shoes.🙄 After that I put on her male WWII German Boots. That looked stupid! That's why I changed her feet. Nobody sees it and nobody knows.😊 TBLeague S12D, S10D, S23B and probably most of the others are the same size. I do not know, because I only have these 3. S24A, S25B, S26A, and S27B are the same size as S12D …….. but the opening is narrow. It has a reduced inside because the thing on the legs where it infects the feet is smaller.

Interesting comparison shots. Thanks for sharing those. I guess I had no idea the standard sized bodies had different sized feet either.

I believe the reason this 'buxom' body has larger feet than the regular sized tbleague bodies is to try to make the ankles look less 'pudgy'.
