Nice set, although not as loaded as they often are for more modern figures. I like the pouches. With the helmet on, the head reminded me of ... Putin, of all people.

I guess the designer of that mask had one instruction: Make us look more EVIL.

I think the sculpt is based on actor Max Riemelt. He can look like young Putin sometimes.
He will be in the New Matrix movie. (Worked with Wachowskis in sense8)

Ovy, I'm sure you're not one of them -- and they were nearly eight decades ago. So no accusation of you being evil, even if you have facial hair -- as established in another post.

As if 3. SS-Panzerdivision "Totenkopf" wasn't evil enough.  

When I used to collect Dragon military I had a few Totenkopf, and thought of them differently even to other SS figures (LSSAH, Das Reich, Wiking etc). The Death's Head Division was formed largely from the SS-Totenkopfverbände, who ran the concentration camps and as such were looked down upon by other SS units as not being real soldiers.

They took the concentration camp mentality with them into the field.


As for sniper masks:

In 1938, a reversible spring/autumn helmet cover, smock, and sniper's face mask in Schick's forest patterns on waterproof cotton duck were patented for the Waffen-SS. The patent is said to have prevented the Wehrmacht from using the patterns, which became a distinctive emblem of the Waffen-SS during the war.

I recently got back into German military due to DiD's venture into the Afrika Korps. However, I want to stay clear of the SS this time.

So are these guys taking on DID as the purveyors of fine 1/6 scale nazis?
