I know the fig is based on... that guy from that movie based on that game... but as a stand-alone figure, maybe the shoulder holster is the only thing that's really 'explorer-like' about it. Otherwise, it looks like maybe some random college kid in khaki cargo pants and a crew neck fleece tee.

I suppose "Random College Kid in Casual Wear" wouldn't be as eye-catching a product title.

Then again, if this forum is an accurate indication of the collector market, it seems like there's a solid demand for non-military casual street wear, so perhaps this is a missed marketing opportunity.

I like as, in David's words, a random college kid in casual wear. The likeness to Tom Holland is decent. I haven't seen the movie, but he certainly looks too youthful to be the iconic Nathan from the games.

It was supposed to be an origin story movie. I never played the games, so I had no basis for caring how things were handled, but it was fun, mindless, entertainment. This looks fine for what it is, but if I get any representation of Nathan it’d be the LIM Toys version.

Makes sense, Mark. Thanks for confirming.

By the way, SWToys are the same ones that made that crappy Lady Adler; I’d be VERY reluctant to put any money down toward this, despite being reasonably priced ($118 USD at OSK).

Swtoys does find ways of cutting costs. I have a few but I think I may not order any from them anymore because the quality always falls short. They are good for kitbashing but that's about it. I'm with Mark, I'd get the Lim version when it comes out. It'd be more accurate to the game anyway. The scenes in the movie were similar to the game but I feel it lost some of the charm from the game. I think a lot of that had to do with Tom Holland is now too synonymous with Spidey and Mark Wahlberg is just himself in all his movies.
