No idea what, if anything, it is based on. I like it in itself, it is a striking piece, but I am willing to bet it is all fantasy -- doesn't look like anything that might have been made in any historical context. Of course, it is entirely possible that some modern dictator somewhere runs into images of things like this on Deviantart or in some computer game and then commissions someone to make them for him.

Everyone saying that Dr. Doom is some iconic character and I'd never even heard of him until that recent product listing.  Oh, how blissful I am in my perpetual ignorance of comic book characters...

I just saw the price. Holy crap! $450 for a freaking chair?! WTF is happening to this hobby! How can these companies justify a price like that?!

lol I thought 149 was the end price. That pricing from Kit isn't great sometimes he lists full prices and often just first down payment.

Hey guys, let's keep things in perspective... it's a throne. If it weren't expensive, it wouldn't be genuine, right?

This probably weighs quite a bit and is pretty large. Yea, even if shipping wasn't an issue, probably way too expensive for me. 35 cm x 35 cm is like the size of a 1/3 scale statue base heh.
