The beautiful Amazonian Alien known as the Noble Niolani, played by Francine York, first appeared in the second season episode entitled "The Colonists," in which Don and Dr. Smith are assailed by a high-pitched sound that increases in intensity until a transmitter and their walkie-talkie are melted. Will, prompted by the Robot, looks for an alien source of trouble. At the Jupiter 2, a voice directs the Robinsons to surrender their arms. Meanwhile, Will has found a cave with a huge alien transmitter. Thinking of destroying the source of the damaging sonic rays, Will climbs on the machinery, only to set off the ear-splitting screech. When he and the Robot flee, they encounter the "voice" in the person of Niolani, the statuesque Amazon warrior leader, preparing the planet for colonization by her kind. Placing Will and the Robot under guard, she orders the men to erect an arch for her warrior colonists to pass through to enable them to breathe the planet's air. Niolani takes Maureen to see the girls listen to a voice that praises women and damns men. Maureen realizes with horror that they are being brainwashed. When the arch is assembled, Smith wins approval from Niolani by decorating it with paintings and sculptured cherubs. Don desperately leaps onto the transmitter, hoping to damage it but is frozen stiff by Niolani's sonic weapon. She spares his life only because she needs him in her workforce. Will successfully leads the Robot through a break in the force field and gets a plastic explosive from the drill site. With a plastic explosive cherub fastened to Smith's artwork, he intends to destroy the arch so the colonists cannot land and discredit Niolani. Smith almost ruins the plan by trying to chisel the cherub into better shape. As Niolani's spaceship approaches, the arch is blown, and the colonists have to veer off. Freeing the Robinsons, Niolani admits defeat by the miserable males and reconciles herself to a domestic future with them.

What a weird history this 1/6 Lost in Space has had!  Starting with Amok Time (was there someone else first), then Sci-Fi Metropolis, Go Hero and Executive Replicas - admirably maintaining some stylistic consistency through highly escalating prices at each company change.  Prices that are now fully in Hot Toys ballpark, and now for making figures that appeared in a single episode (Niolani) or just two episodes (Green Athena).   I suppose that production runs limited to 500 make it feasible.   But is the Lost in Space fandom really that hardcore -- even Star Trek hasn't risked making single episode characters.  Who would ever have imagined that 1966 TV fans would see Niolani and Green Athena figures where eg there still isn't an official 1966 Batgirl or Joker?

Somewhat true but maybe a bit exaggerated?  First time I've seen a statement quite as blunt as this, though we heard something similar from Amok Time earlier in this same Lost in Space sequence:

"Hello everyone. It's been a while but we have been working very hard to continue the Lost in Space line. Available now is the Maureen Robinson. She is in stock and shipping. Because of factory issues over the last few years, it has been very difficult for us to maintain a working relationship with a factory that also makes female action figures. If you have ordered the Maureen Robinson in the past with us, please remit your order again as the price has changed, and do so quickly because we are allocating this very limited piece with other retailers making it very hard to get and will sell out shortly Thank you and let's keep Lost in Space alive."

Yes, interesting development. Too bad the line was allowed to spread so thin and long -- they don't even have all the Robinsons out, do they? I know nothing of the actual show (though I have seen a newer movie version), but found it amusing that Niolani, at least as portrayed, bears a very distant resemblance to another famous Amazon, Wonder Woman. Smile

Ooh! I wouldn't mind getting the suit and the boots. That would make for some great drawing reference photos!

Costume is well done. Not sure about the head sculpt.

These figures are great!
It's so wonderful to see such niche products being made, kudos to Executive Replicas.
