Interesting. Maybe Konglingge is a Taiwanese company, because this is based (directly or indirectly) on a historical figure associated specifically with Taiwan. Zhèng Chénggōng, known as "Koxinga" in Western historiography, was a Ming loyalist who took over Taiwan from the Dutch and established the kingdom of Dōngníng in opposition to the conquering Manchus. On the other hand, perhaps this translates to a more general Chinese nationalist resonance. Whatever the immediate source, historical accuracy, or motivation, gorgeous sets. I own a couple of Konglingge products, and am very happy with them.

i am not particularly intrigued with the figures but the set of 3 with ship is VERY IMPRESSIVE!
