My Bundeswehr

Hi all

Well I know I've posted some of these separately but thought I would do group photos. These are 99% of my "current" Bundeswehr collection. I say current as w8ll be doing some KSK on Afghan too.

Anyhow, these are all based around 1998/1999 and the Kosovo War. We have some Fallschirmjäger ..some with helmet (custom helmet covers by me), and some with berets, which were worn in patrol.

Also have done a Feldjäger, although he needs completing. There is a 2nd one in progress.

The KSK team is made up of 3 ...one Leutnant and 2 Feldwebel with an Oberleutnant currently being put together. All wear the MC Toys uniform which is the best out there for pattern. They each carry armoury day packs. These are not finished, as waiting on nightvision from the dam ksk figure.

The map, sadly didn't print well (but will reprint on fabric with the insignia) is actually a scale map of Prishtina/Prizren detailing military bases,  FOBs, and gendarmerie FOBs...this area is the area assigned to Germany during the Kosovo War.

The major will have a KSK beret, done in the same style with beret badge etc maze same style. He is basic officer setup. Rank of major, custom rabk slides and ksk pocket patch which I've taken from photo of an actual KSK major.

Anyhow...I hope you like them as much as I enjoy putting them together.

I'm certainly enjoying them. Good use of the bits and pieces, although modern uniforms and equipment are largely beyond me. Fun to see the use of familiar heads for your troops. They work out very well.

A former college friend of mine was a soldier in kosovo 89/99. He would love these figs.
I like them too, they look really good.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Oh really? That's great. With the Bundeswehr? A friend of mine was over there too, with the British army.

Yeah with the Bundeswehr. He started studying after his military career and was like 10 years older then the rest of us.

Oh cool! I lived in Germany in 96, knew one guy who joined the "Bund". Lost touch with them all sadly when I came back to UK.

I'm still hunting for more of the mctoys sets haha but think I'll start on some Afghanistan era ones now.

Very nice figures, I'm also not a pro when it comes to modern stuff but they look sharp.

Somehow I missed this. That is an excellent group of figures. Just WOW!

Thank you...to be more accurate for really modern, I could have used sticks for guns, as sadly, the Bundeswehr that underfunded and under-supplied, during an exercise with other nations recently, Bundeswehr troops had to use sticks instead of rifles

Thanks! I have one more KSK waiting his uniform, which I just secured. I love this MC Toys set. I am also waiting on a yard of 1/6 flecktarn from Ric Raynor, and going to put together a shelter half....doubling up, so flecktarn both sides....and do a little photo shoot with them outside

Wow, the rare and hard to find Soldier Story ISAF German Flecktarn uniform. Should never have parted with mine years back. Nice collection I found some real old Armoury British Woodland DPM sets, figuring to bash a set of original Ghost Recon figures and figures I could use it for the British specialist Nigel.

Thanks! Yeah, I have managed to source 7 of the uniforms, 4 complete with the vests, so putting them all to good use MC Toys is as equally rare and hard to find, and I need more haha. Ah nice, the armoury DPM is nice. Used to have a couple of sets of that.

'My Bundeswehr' sounds like a marketing campaign or app to make the Bundeswehr more attractive.

My favourite is the intense beret guy. Maybe he is thinking about the new Bundeswehrbeschaffungsbeschleunigungsgesetz.

That's excellent! And perhaps a question, are there DDR uniforms available as well (Volkspolizei and / or Nationale Volksarmee) ?

That would be interesting. I have looked into them before. I am also working on Bundeswehr dress uniform
