BAD WOLF-787:
Could this be your first quantity purchase (i.e. a case of six)?
GubernatorFan wrote:There is actually some debate over whether plate armor is any heavier than chain mail, the argument being that it is actually lighter (and therefore an improvement). But a fine figure nonetheless, and an interesting observation. There are no contemporary images of Jeanne in armor, but something close to that, in full plate armor, does exist from later in the 15th century.
GubernatorFan wrote:Maverick indeed. Part of the allegation of her being a witch during her trial was that she was wearing men's clothes.
Lynkhart wrote:Oooh, this looks interesting! I can’t really comment on the armour as you guys have covered it far better than I ever could, but the horse armour on the other hand...where’s the rest of it? The neck and shoulders are completely unprotected which seems bizarre when you see how much attention to detail they’ve paid to everything else. The bit is also totally in the wrong place and the saddle needs to come forward more, but other than that it’s looking pretty nice!
Stryker2011 wrote:(By the way, Asta. Love your signature image. I'd love to see all three of them done as 1/6 figures; they're always on my list of figures I'd like to see made).
Stryker2011 wrote:I’m no expert when it comes to armor, but that looks pretty cool.
GubernatorFan wrote:Very very cool. Love that she comes with both heads (and hair), and the overall look and the details seem excellent. I suspect the horse is just a statue, but still very finely done. Thanks for posting the additional images.
GubernatorFan wrote:Asta, I agree that the statues do look more realistic, but then again, they deliver only one look. And that is not the point of an action figure. I mean, you could easily say the same thing about human figures. I have no problem with statues (and I think plenty of statues look great and make for wonderful art), but I don't find them interactive and fulfilling as a collectible in the same way. I believe I have the same (or very similar) Dragon horse -- my first sixth-scale horse ever. I will give you this, too -- statue horses are easier to use (more stable) than articulated ones. But I object to them on principle (within the world of action figures).
