ART FIGS PROJECT 8: BEN DEROSA is a go!
- We are using a cover name as I was informed that peeps still keep tabs on non-official merchandise
- This will be a head & hat, clothing, and accessory, set with a paint option by Jeff Vargas.
- All updates for this project will be posted on this thread.
- As the plan is to produce the other 3 characters of the show, (LIL’ MIKE, BIG DAN, PARNEL) we are keeping prices as low as we can.
- Ordering info will be sent later this evening

I'm going to tell my father about this. He's doesn't necessarily "get" the 1:6 hobby, but I got him 1:6 figures of Lee Marvin as Major Reisman and Charles Bronson as Wladislaw from the film THE DIRTY DOZEN years ago. They were made by DML as CyberHobby.com exclusives. Marvin and Bronson are his two favorite classic Hollywood tough guy actors.

My father is also a classic old school Western fan and he fondly remembers the show.

Keep us in the loop Franciso. I may possibly join this project.

UPDATE: Sculpting should start in a week, the prototype suit is already being worked on!

I have to say, Lorne Greene would be proud.

UPDATE:
The crown of the hat still needs to be adjusted to the correct style.
Texture will be added and side profile will be better adjusted..
Input is welcome!!
While we still haven't decided, we might go with a necked sculpt as Ben kinda had a double chin and we can work that better on a sculpted neck.

Guys, PLEASE give us your input on the sculpt, what tweaks do you think we need at this point??

FINAL VERSION before low res print, and prototype clothing

While I don’t have a vested interest in this project, I think something of Lorne was lost between V. 4 and the final. I personally think v. 4 looks more like him.

That figure's going to have to put on a little weight to make a convincing Lorne Greene.

Were going for a season 1-6 Ben. He was thinner and younger..
He was heavier in the later seasons

Proto suit is in!!! The gunbelt is something im working on. The inticate "buscadero style" cant be reproduced in 1/6, so im experimenting. Let me know what you think... This belt is lighter, just seeing if i could get the scrolling. The final will have moreof an orange tinge like on the show..

Heres the first low res test print. The final test print will have texture and fine line details...

yea Will did a great job!

Low res print on the coo model 27cm body we used as a base for the clothing set! Looking great!!

A short clip with random clothes showing the scale of the head and body..

UPDATE:
Heads will be casted this weekend and be in the mail to me soon after AND all clothing sets are done and have been mailed to me!!
Ill be in contact with you soon regarding who is sending their sculpts out to be painted!
Im aslo waiting on an estimate for a gunbelt that will be more screen accurate.
