These are sooo beautiful!! A part of me wishes they were semi transparent or reflective, but I guess that would make them look more natural whereas you're going for the crafted vibe, which has its own charme and works perfectly!

Thanks! Also thought of using transparent plastic, but well they don't have to be the last rainbow people.

About the material, I used thin cardboard foam. Someone got an idea what kind of material these two might have used in 'real'?

I might also use plastic carton for the other wings, not sure yet.

Haha yeah it burned into my head too. It was a classic trailer joke, it didn't work in the movie anymore.

Thanks a lot! I have to give them some outdoor light some day, until now it's just a primitive one lamp Dio photographed with a middle class phone cam.

I brought these two rainbow flyers along for an illustration exhibition this weekend, where they stayed for two days. I changed their poses every few hours. Kids liked them. Hyufiht has some unfinished but presentable starterwings now as you can see, more about that in another post. I am a bit tired now. xD

It was a very interesting exhibition and nice meeting Fyyit and Hyufiht in person They are as gorgeous as on the pictures, if not more.

I hope they evoked some interest among people not knowing 1/6. They are good for art shows too.

Oh that's great, a those are some great prints in the back there. I once did something similar in university for an english class where the task was talking about our hobbies (conversational english class) so I brought two figures, WWII german guy and US guy, to keep it short I still think people where divided 50-50 with some finding it cool and others weird lol.

God, these are so stunning! You continue to come at things from the most unusual and unpredictable angles. So floored by it all. The concept is so inspired, and I love the entire back story of the founder. And the whole painted look is incredible. That is the best use of those head sculpts I can imagine, and so fitting for those characters. And now you HAVE to print the Bosch Triptychon with their psychedelic embellishments. That's the sort of thing I just can't resist!

Also, Skywalkersaga's description "a very camouflaged feel -- if one were to require camouflage inside of a psychedelic, surrealist painting" summed it up so perfectly and beautifully.

Well. What follows now is a kind of multi layered inside joke. Regardless of that, I think these are cute pictures and I was asked to post them for the entire world to see.

As it is known, the ancestors of the rainbow people looted and hoarded a lot of art from all over Europe's dead museums, like this Young Beautiful Antinous bust.

It's my largest 3d print yet, it left the European mainland and is in good hands now after Fyyit and Hyufiht kissed him goodbye.

LOL Very nicely printed and presented, Ovy. I'm sure Hadrian would have approved. Or maybe not. But it was fun. I always suspected those were kissy faces after all.

Hahaha!! I had almost forgotten you created these colorful taffy people, it has been so long since we've seen them. Am I the only one who is reminded of that old Fruit Stripe gum that came with kid's tattoos? Like I know it's weird to say, but I imagine that is what they would taste like if they were made of candy. lol

Maybe a rainbow eucalyptus forest? Or its photo displayed on a print or computer screen.

These prints came out really nice and smooth. With the right "stone" color they would look like real marble, basalt or whatever you like them.
Might be interested in future busts or lil statues too, depending on project.

And thanks for sharing the pics here. It might be a while before I can put the finishing touches on Antinous and incorporate him into a proper dio, and your excellent 3D printing work deserves to be admired in the meantime.

Whoa! I'm not sure I "get" this from a 1/6 hobby perspective, but the artistic quotient of this project is actually museum worthy! I could totally see this on exhibit at an art gallery, especially when you use that backdrop. I'm the daughter of a painter (modern abstract) so I've been visiting museums and galleries since I could walk and yeah, it's worthy, it's that original and creative. If you made it 1/1 scale you could probably sell it for a few hundred thousand dollars!

That's cool, and they sort of have kissy faces when they are near another face, , I can imagine them painting the statue like themselves.
