judge for yourself, Sky.

I do like the braids.

skywalkersaga

Thanks for the pics. I only vaguely remembered the figure from the images you posted in that initial review. I also don't really recall what the prototype was supposed to look like so it's hard to compare.

You are right though, the braids are nice.

skywalkersaga wrote:dtny16 - perhaps the company learned their lesson from the previous figure. The problem with that one was the fact that the body they used was extremely undersized. With this set, they have not included a body, so that people can use their own. The figure that brascco had was fully armoured, and therefore the armour did not fit onto any other bodies. But this set is for a very loose and adjustable outfit, so I am thinking there is much less chance of running into the same problem with this offering.
I agree with what you pointed out. Provided it does not come oversized, I too hope the loose nature clothing of this set can help out with the tolerance.

On the other hand, after checking out brassco's pictures, the armor and headsculpt look very well painted and detailed if not for the mismatch in size.

The headsculpt looks very good! Did you try fitting it onto your other sets to see how it fit? Thanks for the pictures and for pulling it out from your storage rabbit

I just received my set today from Timewalker. WOW! I don't have a body yet, so I'm going to have to hold off on sharing any pics, but everything in this set is quite nice. The head sculpt looks pretty much like what you see in the promo pics, and the clothing appears to be well tailored. It oddly only comes with one hand (to hold the pipe), so you'll have to provide your own if you plan to show both hands; you will need a Pale TBLeague body -- which bust size is definitely your choice (as mentioned in the descriptions), but what I can see this set is just as gorgeous as the promo pics make it out to be. And they very kindly included an instruction manual in English & Chinese with plenty of diagrams to explain how to move the pers and to wrap the kimono. I'm really looking forward to putting her together when I can scrounge up the money to get a couple more bodies. I wouldn't hesitate to pick this one up if you've been sitting on the fence -- it's really well done.

I picked the 2B set (the last pics with the green). I found a body that I had on hand that I’m going to use, so in a couple days, after I soak the clothes, hopefully I’ll be able to get some shots done.

I admire your consistency in going through all the right steps, Mark. As much as I dread staining the bodies, I'm usually too lazy to do the soak in vinegar. I did wash them with Oxy detergent, but then I scrubbed too hard and ruined the detail on that track suit...

I think i saw a review online. The set looks really good. Do be careful of the headdress pins and flowers. They are very fragile. I think the reviewer broke a few during the review.

Edit: was this video

thks for the heads up, csyeung! I will be taking a second look at the video when i begin to assembly it.

The youtuber should have dress it up without putting the HS first. But he's doing me a great favour.

Yea definitely dress her up before putting on the headsculpt. The dress looks a bit complicated to get the knots right it looks. Looking forward to how it turns out!

The guy in the video isn't wrong -- I've been f'ing around with the damn sash now for about 2 hours. The directions are super vague, even YouTube videos don't really explain it all that clearly, especially since none of the ones I've seen show the long sash drooping down the way the figure has it in the promo pics -- not to mention, Oiran were prostitutes, and the only ones who wore the sash "tied" in front for ease of use -- so almost none of the videos show how to make the sash look the way they do here. I've watched, and tried, several different attempts through different videos to replicate this look, or even replicate other styles (usually where it looks like a small bow) with no success. Very frustrating.

Oof, I'm sure it's hard enough tying one of those in real life let alone in 1/6 scale!

The kimono is not that difficult to put on, thks to the instruction manual and the video. The one that gave me the most headache is the flower hairpins...I broke all of them in the process! Luckily still manage to somehow stick to the hair. The body i used is S10D.

Hey! You did it. She looks great. I still haven't managed to figure mine out (the Obi sash); think I'm going to go with the traditional bow-style (more modern), but leave it in the front (instead of swinging it to the back), as I found a YouTube video explaining how to do it.

Well, I finally finished putting mine together; as I said, I cheated on the Obi Sash and tied in as close approximation to a traditional bow -- placed in back normally (in front for women such as this). I cheated on the flowers on the headdress as well -- instead of messing with the stems (which broke on mine also), I superglued them to her head; I honestly don't know how i8 expected them not to. The head doesn't sit as flush as I would like, but it's really difficult to work with to be honest, and I was paranoid to damage anything on the head (and it comes apart rather easily if you don't grasp the head in multiple locations when putting it on the neck).

I think it looks pretty great! It's a shame the flowers and headdress is so delicate. It's like they didn't test it out beforehand =(.

the ribbon looks quite good! I might just redo the sash to get a different look...

The more i look at this figure, the more i could associate it with art...

I tucked the white rope into the sash. Is it supposed to be out?

which body did you use, Stryker?

More beautiful shots, brassco. I used the S10D for mine. I agree with you, all issues aside, this figure is gorgeous — and could easily be seen as a great decorative piece of art. My sperm donor’s second (ex)wife loved Japanese art and figurines, and if she didn’t know the context of the figure, I could easily have seen her display something like this.

Don't quite understand what you mean by your *** ex-wife, but nonetheless...
The HS couldn't press down further on the body, right? This makes the neck seems long, and there's an unsightly gap...

I think he means his biological father's second wife. Smile

I call my biological father a "sperm donor" since he hasn't been in my life since I was 19 (over 36 years since I last saw him -- my choice), and prior to that he was... well... let's just say he should have been locked up a long time ago.

And yes, the head really doesn't sit down as well as it should, giving her a long neck (which I don't mind), but the unsightly gap is bothersome at certain angles.
