Made a seax. It is pretty easy to do.

Step 1: Look at various types of the item in question and choose one to copy. Get dimensions and reduce to the appropriate scale.

Step 2: Sketch on paper and keep tweaking till you are happy with it. Transfer this design to a piece of timber and cut out to form a template.

Step 3: Trace template onto a piece of steel (recycled from an old computer case) and cut out.

Step 4: Give a quick polish. Grind an edge into the blade. Cut up two pieces of popsicle stick to use as a handle.

Step 5: Use a file to roughen up the tang for the glue to key to. Glue wood to the tang and clamp until glue has set.

Step 6: File and sand the handle to shape.

Step 7: Final sanding and polish.

Very cool. Nice work. Would be interested to see it in-hand (1/6 scale hand, that is).

This was a custom order in 1:4. I'll have to make another in 1:6.

Very cool!
I would love to see one in 1:6 in a figure's hand as well!

Very nicely done and faithfully executed. Though our definitions of easy may differ.

The only tool I used was a Dremel and four basic attachments.

Cutting disc:  to cut the blank from the steel plate and to cut up the popsicle stick.
Grinding drum: to clean up the edges, grind the bevel for the sharp edge, and roughen the tang.
Polishing wheel: to polish the steel.
Sanding drum: to shape the handle.

The other three items I used were a pencil, fine sandpaper, and glue.

Nice work on the 1/6 scale.

I still have yet to watch that season of WD. After I saw the spoiler of Glen's fate, I've been too po'd to continue. I'll get around to it eventually.

I don't have the money, the inclination, or the space to collect all of the major characters of a show I like, so I try and find iconographic examples - characters that epitomise the themes of the show or who are integral to many plot developments.

I have Aragorn from Lord of the Rings because he is the central character and because his ancestors were integral in many Middle Earth legends.
I have Jango Fett from Star Wars because he was the progenitor of the Clone Army and subsequent Stormtroopers, and because his son is one of the most popular characters in the series.
I have Daniel Craig's James Bond because I think that Casino Royal was the best Bond movie ever made, and because Craig's Bond most closely represents the Bond in the original books.
I have Nagan from Walking Dead because I feel that he best represents what the show is all about.

Interesting way to collect, and cost effective. I have two Bonds myself. Connery, because he will always be THE James Bond. And Craig, because Casino Royale was awesome (his other outings as Bond were ok, but nowhere near as good; and that last one kind of sucked). I agree with you about Aragorn. He was definitely the "real" main character, and the actual hero of the story. Frodo just carried a ring, but it was Gollum who destroyed it. I can forgive you Jango, as your explanation as to why you have him is sound, and just as deeply evaluated as your explanation for Aragorn. I, myself, have only watched those prequels once, and I will never watch them again.  No

Like I said, I haven't watched that season of WD yet (so please, no spoilers Evil or Very Mad), but I just got the impression from the previews that he was an absolutely despicable human being. Those are not the guys I root for. I generally like to see those people die horrible, painful, slow deaths. I'm always bummed when the protagonist's have to give you some moral high-ground as to why they kill someone quickly, or worse, not at all. I'm more of an eye-for-an-eye person. So, I'm hoping that at the end of the season, or, if he's still around, sometime soon, Neegan gets what's coming to him.

John Snow would be my choice for an iconographical character from Game of Thrones. I want to get Al Swearengen from Deadwood. Arnie is the only character to bother collecting in the Terminator series. Leonard Nemoy's Spock is the iconographical Star Trek character because he bridges all of the iterations of the show. I'm a fan of Kurt Russel and have been tossing up for ages which character to get. I think I've settled on Snake Plissken.

Snake is a good choice. It redefined him as an actor, that’s for sure.

I have that figure and it is pretty good, but not quite as good as one might have hoped. See Michael Crawford's review. Besides, for kitbash/custom purposes, the permanently fixed eyepatch look is quite limiting. I am looking forward to the Jack Burton figure.

The first in-hand pics of Jack are up over at the Freaks, and as usual, it looks pretty awful.

After faithfully following WD , I bailed before the Neagan episodes started. I had a pretty good idea what was coming and spoilers have confirmed that.
Don't get me wrong, I get that humans are just as dangerous as the zombies and that is what they are trying to convey, but I was interested in a zombie drama where the heros triumphed ( even if some of their own were lost.)
There are plenty of post apocalyptic stories I can watch about human on human violence, and I do.

On the subject of the blade, WoW!
I would have cut off my own finger!
Well done!
