Coastal Invasion

Hey folks,

I took a Canuck I've been working on recently to the beach and staged a small-scale invasion.











And because it felt weird to do a Normandy style shoot without a paratrooper.



I was intending to take more shots in the surf, however I grabbed the wrong pair of waterproof boots and my
feet were absolutely killing me by the time I got to the water. After taking some shots I trudged back to the car,
changed my footwear and did the rest of my shots on the beach.

That`s a shame about your feet coz that first pic is a corker !!!!

Haha thanks man! I'll likely do it again at some point, more properly prepared.
Each time I do this I wind up doing it a little better than the last, but also running into different obstacles.

Those are a couple of good looking figures, and the photos are really well done; you managed to make them look in scale to their environment.

You were bold to take a fig with that many accessories in to the surf!
Lovely setting! Too bad the poor guy has to fight a war there! Looks like a nice place for a picnic!

davidd, it's definitely a great spot to visit when there isn't a little war on the go

We've got some of the most drastic tides in the world, here. When the tide is all the way out, it's definitely quite the trek to get to the water.

Two of the teachers in my 3rd high school splashed ashore with the 3rd Canadian Div on D-Day. One of them, was the teacher that had to pass me for my oral French exam, (now what it sounds like). Since I'm fluent in French that was no problem, but I was advised by my regular French teacher (who was from France) that since my exam fell on the 6th of June, I could really get in my examiner's good side by talking about D-Day as one of my subjects.

Yeah, I got a perfect grade on the exam.

Now that is the dedication I want to see in outdoor figure photography! Go all in, grab your military grade Canadian hockey tape and take some risks for the perfect photo!
My favourite 'effect' are the foamy waves. 

I am sure that the ghosts of the D-Day heroes salute you, Sir, for bravely getting your feet wet! xD

Absolutely stunning pics! I'm always impressed with your work, and even moreso with how you pose and angle everything so perfectly.

I really like these shots - always a fan of the more realistic shots with action figures. Was totally worth the effort.
Only thing I personally like not too much is his face tbf - bit more realistic would do wonders for me, especially on that first close up pic (6th from top). But other than that, very well!

Thanks He'll likely be getting a repaint when I've got a bit less on my plate, but I do like the youthfulness the sculpt portrays.

sharp work on the unis, gear, location, photography.
what really shines for me is how the rifles look, excellent!
