oh my! This is based on the original Romance of the Three Kingdom from China. In my opinion, the actor portraying the historical character from this series, is the best!

Love his beard!

Gorgeous set, like most of its series. I realize they ended up going for the rendition by a particular actor in a particular franchise, but still, very impressive. And I love the "real" hair beard. Cao Cao was the founder of what became the Wei Dynasty, ruling northern China after the end of the Han in the early 3rd century. So this is a pretty important historical figure, too, even if probably best known now as a character in this Late Medieval work of historical fiction.

A word of caution about the beard.  303Toys was famous for their "beard work" scandal.  Below was their previous "real bearded" figure, also set in Three Kingdom period.  


The right one was the "in-hand" beard and the left one was the custom fixed job from a buyer

Good to know. The beard as depicted in the promo images looks like an improvement, but who knows how it will actually look in hand.

Luckily, these types of figures are too expensive for me, so I won't be taking any risk, just admiring from afar. ;p
