Got my nylon hair from China so decided to sculpt and print a Marylin face and try my latest method for hair on it.

It works but basically I have two problems.
Hair is to thick and I can't get the style I really want, so had to do with a simplified style.

Thickness is probably just a learning curve thing.
I wanted a wavy hair style and added to much hair just to be sure that there not should be any gaps in it.
I think I could have used at least 30% less hair without any problem.

The problem with styling is probably down to thicker/stiffer hair strands, lack of hair styling tool in correct scale and having to few arms.
Might give it a second try with thinner/softer nylon/saran hair from DollEmporium when it arrives.

LOL, you had me at having too few arms/hands. Isn't that the truth for all of us when it comes to customizing things in this scale. Of course, I've often wondered how good we would be at coordinating them if we had more. But anyway. I think it actually looks quite good, all the more so considering you were making these pieces from scratch. Synthetic hair is always going to have some such limitations, I hope you are more satisfied with the next option that arrives. Nice work on the face and good job with the strategic positioning of this bow.

That doesn't look half bad. The paint app on the face is really well done. Love the pic and the strategic bow placement.

Looks good even with what you have described.

And I too suffer from that condition of lacking extra arms to hold stuff. 😂

A little update.
Tried to make some underwear for her.

The thin Nylon and the Saran hair from Doll Emporium has arrived and will try to make a new hair for her in the thin Nylon when I get the energy to redo it.

Saran will be tested on my Betty Page doll when I get that one started.

So far, what I can say about the hairs.
The thicker China Nylon hair is stiffer and need more heat to shape.
The thinner UK hair is softer but as tools for human hair works on the China hair they may melt the thin UK hair.
So pros and cons with both.

Wow. That is an impressive job on the lingerie. And the head turned out really nice. (I'd like to see it from different angles if you are so inclined.)

Another view of the head.

Face don't work that god in full frontal as I messed up the Eyelashes.
Marilyn's upper eyelid drops in the outer corner of the eye and that is lost because of the messed up Eyelashes.
My old head for her that had sculpted hair had better painted lashes and looked more alike so I know I can do better;)

Gonna make some other shoes for her as well, that's why current shoes not has been painted.
Think she mostly had more pointed shoes.

It doesn’t look that bad to me, but then we are often our own worst critics. I can understand if you feel the need to make it to your own satisfaction. Good luck.

She doesn't look bad at all. I think you've done a beautiful job, not to mention very impressive given how much of this you designed, 3D printed, and painted yourself. Surely, practice makes perfect. But this is already pretty great.

She´s fantastic ! love her outfit and sculpt. You did a great job on her. Yes, You are right. The problem with Hair is it is not six times thinner than normal hair. For a figure in 1:6 scale it has to be. I use Mohair because of that fact. But the Hair Job You did is to good to change it.

They turned out nice. And I like your "cheesecake" shot -- definitely works for MM.

I'm angry at master.

WIP Marilyn P1030716

He asked me if there was anything that I needed.
I answered that a dress and set of underwear in white would be nice.
And a new little more wavy hairstyle maybe.
But most of all I want a best friend.

He is so stupid.
He started to unpack one of the the TBLeague boxes....

I thought all men new what a girls best friend is supposed to be. Sad

Anyway, I managed to snap a photo of her feet as she walked by, just before she walked into a wall.
And they say blondes are stupid...
Well maybe not fair of me, after all she had no head.

Those are quite the heels. I’m surprised we haven’t gotten a “7 Year Itch” dress yet — or is there?

I think there was (perhaps an approximation), sold as a set (one of several different ones) with those sculpted hair head sculpts a while back.

Something in that direction is planned to happen.
Maybe not a full recreation but something similar.
Don't think I have the skill for a 1/6 version of the dress.
But a simplified version, maybe.
