Every figure Sideshow does seems to be controversial these days. No different is there latest release - Jack Burton from Big Trouble in Little China. They've actually been making me a happy camper with most of their figures in recent months, but this one ended up disappointing me. You can find the full review here:

or with the rest of the reviews at the usual:

Thanks for reading!

Thank you for another detailed review, Michael. In this instance we both reviewed the same product. It is interesting that while the overall score is similar and we agreed on much, there are other instances where we are apart -- see my own review HERE. I think this is in part due to some inconsistency in the product itself. Judging by your macro photos, the paint work is not the same, for example on the eyebrows, on the side of the face, and on the neck. I can't tell if inconsistency also affects the outfit, which I thought rather good (though I agree on the cuffs). At any rate, if the product is demonstrably inconsistent, that is probably worth knowing for those considering getting this figure. Speaking of the neck, I agree it is a little long, but I believe that is so that it looks about right when you have the denim coat on.

So glad I canceled my PO with Sideshow. Very disappointed, and I think you were far too generous on how overpriced this figure is. I would say it’s over-priced by about $80 (dare I say $100?). I’ve seen $140 figures from smaller companies that look better than this. Sorry to be a Debbie-Downer, but this is inexcusable for a company that thinks they have the right to charge HT prices.

Wow. How disappointing. What a shame, as this would be such a fun figure if done right. Funny, a friend grabbed a pic of a prototype at SDCC last year, and the head just looked so much better, and the clothes, while still a bit bulky and boxy, still looked better than the final result.

The prototype DID look good.
