A little diecast action!
Through some misadventure I wound up with this Willys, but decided to make the most of it.
First thing, I removed some paint advertising the brand off the front fenders, then did some repainting, inside and out. I tore this baby pretty well entirely apart.
I recovered the seats in hockey tape for a canvas-like finish. Also used tape for the windscreen cover, some straps, and the collapsible canvas bucket strapped to the jerry can.
The roof tarp is paper towel, painted and treated with mod podge. I may re-make this later to be a full roof, as it is now it doesn't make it to the windscreen.
I used a Liquitex coarse texture gel for the caked-on mud. It's an interesting product, dries white with the texture of sand, takes paint quite well. Ideal for snow, sand or mud.
I like using matte and gloss finishes for detail work, such as gloss for fresh wet mud, and matte for windscreen dust.
Long-term, I may make up a stretcher for this, and possibly a driver, but as it stands now, this muddy buggy is pretty well finished.
