WIP Red Sonja figure

I like your Fairy & Ice Troll. That's a great shot. Did you swap out her hair from something else?

yes ... this is actually an "Avril Lavigne"-headsculpt with the molded hairpiece of an old Kumik "Carey Mulligan"-head. I removed the ears and added the elvish ears from a YMToys head.

Here is a tiny update on my efforts to produce a fight sequence with the ice troll. Somewhat the troll (28cm) did not scale all that great with Red Sonja, so I used a smaller S25-based figure for my posing tests.

I'm not really happy with the angle and lightning yet, but here is a sneak peek anyway ...

Very cool. (No pun intended). I like the new figure too, and the pics look pretty neat. The ice troll is a pretty cool figure — it’s a bummer no one has thought to make something like this in 1/6 scale.

That is a very skilled stunt troll! Or do you mean not hurt YET?

Really like the redish light on the surface of their skin. The angry head sculpt is perfect too.

He is for sure an experienced stunt troll. Also, Elli is somewhat known to erratically spare some of her fiercest opponents at the last minute. I also helped that I told her the troll was named "Abby".

These sequence of battle photos are excellent and exceptionally well done. The background and poses are really cool. I especially like her leaping up in the air for the final blow pose.

Nicely done, love seeing both figures, and especially when they interact.

Thanks for your ongoing interest in my little odyssey in customizing and posing Red Sonja.

Today, I received a package containing another new Black Widow head from NR Toys that I ordered sometime ago, when searching for the ideal Red Sonja representation. I'm pretty much impressed with the head and think I will keep this one for the Sonja figure.

I just found this thread, your Red Sonja looks great!

I did a couple of Red Sonja's awhile back from the original Red Sonja's 1 and 2 figures one more traditional and one biker version from a comic book cover.

You gotta love Red Sonja!

This is great fantasy Art. You have to rename the Thread. I thought it´s just the Red Sonja figure made by TBL (?) Thre´s much more in this thread. Monsters, fight scenes... i love it. Especially the two different facial expressions of the warrioress

The outdoors shots are absolutely gorgeous -- a combination of the excellence of the figure and its environment (and your good choices and photography).

Beautiful photos. Being in the “wild” is such a treat. Sadly, despite being in the heavily wooded mid-west, there is no where close by that isn’t private land for me to be able to do the same. Outdoor shots always look so much better than indoor.

Well, she looks much better than David Bowie as the goblin queen, that's for sure. The photo is almost perfect, but something about the pose is just a tad detracting.

Cool shot. Love the massive throne and the little goblins. I don’t mind the pose as it reminds me of so many Red Sonja/Conan comic covers. The.. ahh.. outfit is what makes it distracting. I like the use of the Rey sculpt.

I see Scarlett is back! I personally think she looks too soft for Sonja (and BW, too), but she rocks it (and BW) anyway. She's awesome.

LOVE the Rey sculpt in your setting! Lighting, backdrop, props, composition, posing... all great work!

That is actually what I mean. In this pose and at that place, this outfit is either too little or too much. I agree, the Rey sculpt works beautifully, creating a far more interesting character.

Well, the outfit problem did not really occur to me, when I planned and took the shot. I see now that the skimpy outfit in combination with the particular pose is not appropriate. Rey's posture on the throne was intended to convey a certain arrogance and malignancy -- further supported by keeping her face largely in the shadows. While I still think that it somewhat works, I agree that the attention is now mostly drawn to the "wardrobe malfunctions".

Don’t sweat it too much. It’s still a really cool pic.
