Always glad to see more variety in body options. Still need to pick up a Jiaou doll and check them out.

More options are always welcome. I do find it ironic that two of the images used anime and Asian head sculpts for the "European shape" bodies, and that some of the new options are said to have the same skin tone as Phicen/TBLeague's pale and suntan -- since so much of the presumed advantage of Jiaous was that they were slightly different.

That was pretty much my thought, S. They've given us Kim Kardashian (half plastic/half real human) instead.

Funny how there are "Dad" bods, "fat" bods and even older guy/fat guy (though few) head sculpts, but so far... no "Mom" bods, "fat" bods in females... or older lady/fat lady head sculpts. Very limiting for bash fodder. I'd love to be able to do a grandmotherly woman at some point, but unless one goes the custom route, there's no such luck. There are some cool old ladies out there even in the movie industry that would be cool to see in 1/6 (Judi Dench, Maggie Smith to name just two)...

Maybe I'm alone in that, I don't know...

Good point! I would like to do a grannie wrestler complete with boots and bouffant hairdo! I am not joking. I suspect that "ordinary people" are not high on most collectors wants list.

I couldn't agree more. I think it's a clear signal that more women are needed in the action figure design departments.

The figure is beautiful, totally agreed on the huuuuge boobs, Variety would have been to get back to smaller and more realistic boobs than these watermelon things defying gravity...

Anyway I had a good laugh reading there is a "european" body shape, I would be interested to know the definition! if you put a German next to a portuguese next to an english next to a swedish... Tell me which is the european body shape lmao

Another porn body that looks like it was designed on a computer. Take some anatomy classes and sculpt by hand, do something that looks natural and real for once!

You're not alone.  I would really be interested in a Dench or Smith figure.  The Dowager Countess figure would rock.  To do an older woman bash currently would be difficult on many levels given the body types, head sculpts, clothing options are few and far between.  It would require almost complete innovation.

Looks are really important in this hobby, and age is one component of that.  I've been looking for some conventionally unattractive or even 'average looks' non-celebrity head sculpts lately for both males and females for a realism factor.  There are a handful male sculpts out there that fit the bill and virtually no female sculpts.  You might get an 'intense' or 'surly' look on an attractive head, and that's about it.  

Even the male bodies that are supposedly fat often come with a raised eyebrow in many of the groups as something that's humorous or a novelty as opposed to a more typically realistic body shape.  The WorldBox dad bod is just a slight paunch on their regular frame. Not bad, but I can get the same effect on some of my Soldier Story bodies by arching the back a bit.  The WorldBox plump body is a truly worthy effort.  

Body dysmorphia reigns supreme in 1/6.  It's the realm of bombshells and beefcake.  Bigger boobs and more muscles. This Jiaou figure could have broken the mould with the curvier build idea, but they went Kardashian instead of Rubenesque.    

I agree with Rogerbee as well about basic anatomy.  With both this and the recently announced strong male body, they are just off.  Sure, there might be some statistical outliers with bodies like these..somewhere in the world

Anyway, it's the old standoff.  People who want (in addition to what's offered) more typically realistic body shapes and those who say there is no market or demand for them.

of Jiaou Female bodies?

I can't find anything. I'm looking for the tallest female Jiaou body,
but it would help to have a reference.

Maybe something about the stock numbers tell the size.

I'm pretty sure Giantoy.com have a comparison guide for jiaou bodies. I'm not a fan of jiaou though, so I've not paid it much interest. Definitely saw something regarding jiaou at the bottom of giants front page though.

Yeah, sorry. I went and looked after I posted. I assumed they had a similar feature to their tbleague comparison page. But as you say, it's just a colour chart.

MX-V - just keep in mind that the surface of the Jiaou Dolls is more prone to staining and ripping than the TBLeague ones, even though they are both types of TPE. So careful with your customization. And remember modesty when showing them off.

I have more tears in my TBLs than Jiaous even though I have more Jiaous.  IMO Jiaous are superior in every way except for range of movement and potential for staining.

They're all pretty much the same height.

The 'European' body above seems to be the shortest, while the newest 'slender Asian' body appears to be the tallest, but I'm sure those are just misperceptions related to their respective 'fat'/'thin' body masses.

If there are any actual height differences, then we're only talking in milimeters. There certainly isn't anything approaching the height variety offered by TBL.

GF, hahahaha, modesty... Yes, I will respect that.
The (kind of) fun thing when ordering is you have no idea what you'll get.
I thought that the European body type would be thin, maybe average height. She's big and the tallest so far. In white. The center one came from Aliex. No description. Thin, big bust and small. In Black is the one from Ekia Hobbies, Suntan Big bust. She's short and a bit stocky.

Hard to tell from the photo but they are very different. And no stock numbers on the boxes.
But I really like these. So much, they won't be customized (or what I call, MX'ed up)
Love the TBL's also, tighter skeletons and I like that they're different. Love variety.
I like the Jiaou hands more. Cool stands.

The figures in the picture are all wheat colored, but you may be able to tell they are different.
The Jia colors are more natural also. The latest one will be white, not pale. This should be interesting...

The most frustrating thing about Jiaous is not having stock number or model number on the box. Buying a Jiaou from most suppliers is a lottery because you are never exactly sure what is going to show up.

Well, you're definitely going to end up with variety in your collection. Glad it worked out. I find the Jiaou hands and feet less delicately sculpted/molded, and harder plastic. But, they paint the ladies' nails.

I've had 3 jiaou, and they all split at the groin and armpits, despite only being redressed one or two times, and only being displayed in a shady cool spot in basic standing poses. As a result I no longer use jiaou at all. 
I've only had 1 tbleague (out of 12) tear at the crotch, and they get reposed/dressed way more than the jiaou ever did. 

I think that particular tbleague only split, because I stupidly displayed it above a top mounted PC fan, so it was getting an up-skirt blast of hot dry air for weeks.
Admittedly I had one other tbleague that broke down, but that was my first, which ended up being used for loads of kitbash, and skin painting testing. It took a beating, so not really surprising.

The jiaous just....split, for no obvious reason. 

Either you've been really lucky with jiaou, or I've been really unlucky.

I don't have any earlier Jiaous. All the ones I have are version 3. They seem to be no more susceptible to tearing than TBL.
