Let's start off the week with a look at a new Hot Toys figure - at least for me. It's taken him awhile to get here, but the Gladiator Thor finally made his presence felt.  If you're a big fan of Ragnarok, this is a great figure. If not, it's probably one you can pass by...you'll find my review here:

or with the rest of the reviews at the usual:

Thanks for reading!

Great review, Michael. I was tempted to get this stuff ne, as I REALLY wanted Gladiator Hulk, but I just couldn’t justify the price for the Hulk, so I got the last “Thor” representation that I liked “Road Worn”.

Thanks for another great review, Michael. I found myself nodding in agreement all along the introduction. I did not pick up this boxed set, but did get a few of the parted-out parts. There is something about the head sculpt I am not quite fully happy with, but I can't tell what it is, besides the overly-scene-specific permanent war paint. It seems to me that the character is actually great in both Ragnarok and Infinity War, arguably the most likeable one in the whole gang. But a lot of this was because of humor, optimism, and good attitude, which is not quite conveyed by the tense expression. Maybe that's what's missing -- for me.

Great review Michael. I had not looked at this figure before but now I am definitely interested!

First, I have to say I disagree with the idea that what Marvel have done is impressive. They alter characters to fit plots and by collecting all their own characters and rotating them in films, they are sucking the creativity out of their own creations and diluting their impact.

Having said that and having complained about umpteen redesigns for characters, I really like this one. The head is too short haired for Thor (and not blond enough?) but it might do for someone else in my imagination.

Apart from the horrible helmet and shield I really like his outfit! Going shopping now! Smile

I just realized, after rewatching the film, that while HT chose to be very scene-specific with the war paint on the face and neck (it is a tad too dark, by the way), they seem to have forgotten that in that scene (and a substantial part of the movie), Thor has a silverish obedience disk implanted onto the right side (camera left) of his neck. No trace of that on the figure.
