“You’re right, we do need back up.” – Tony Stark

Facing down his adversary, Iron Man primes his cutting-edge armor to discharge high energy lasers in Iron Man 3. Known by its code name as the “Silver Centurion”, Iron Man Mark XXXIII is an Enhanced Energy Suit engineered by Tony Stark with more powerful repulsors. It was activated along with all the other suits when Tony ordered to initiate the “House Party Protocol”.

Recreates one of the extraordinary armors from the Iron Legion, today Hot Toys is proud to present Silver Centurion (Armor Suit Up Version) as 1/6th scale collectible figure from Iron Man 3 collection. Features specially designed armor parts simulate the real time suiting up process and to illustrate its mechanical beauty.

Exquisitely crafted based on Silver Centurion in Iron Man 3, the diecast figure features a newly painted helmeted head sculpt with battle damage effects; a newly designed helmet head with LED-light up function and detachable mask; armor suit skillfully painted in crimson red and silver coloring with a metallic appearance; intricate design of the armors translating its complex structure and mechanical details; LED light-up functions scattered throughout the arms, legs, Arc Reactor on chest and back; a pair of diecast forearm blades, interchangeable hands, and a figure stand.

This one-of-a-kind armor will certainly make a powerful addition to your Marvel collection!

Very sharp, very beautiful. But I was yawning between every word. And no real unmasked head sculpt to boot... I think I'm totally burnt out on Iron Men.

I’m right there with you. This has become absolutely tedious — and unnecessary at this point.

Oddly, I had exactly the opposite reaction from you guys -- that despite the distressingly long line of HT Iron Man figures (and owning some of them), surprisingly this particular release still found a way to impress me with something different. Super-detailing all of that inner technology, essentially by catching the Silver Centurion right in the middle of transition, is more and different than HT designs have done before. Probably their most complex Iron Man ever. Combined with the diecast, this turns the Silver Centurion from the lightest armor into something that looks much bigger and imposing -- though that effect is artificial because it's just catching the midpoint of the suiting up. I couldn't justify getting one -- can't justify the money, can't justify my storage space which is at a premium, and story-telling-wise you can't do anything much with it. But I am impressed with the complexity of it, hope I get to see one in hand.

MBAM, in my defense it was very late, I was just poking in before hitting the sack. But I did literally yawn often and widely enough to have to pull back from my screen. Smile More seriously, I have no doubts that Hot Toys' design is intricate and complex and the molding and painting quality is going to be top notch. But even if they are taking it to the next level with this, they have so oversaturated their potential customers with Iron Man stuff that it is likely to take only the most die-hard and affluent fans to go for this at this point. Or so it seems to me. Of course, they are probably producing these in small enough numbers for it to be a safe enough investment. Nor is there a guarantee that this is going to be in every way superior to theoretical cheaper alternatives -- for example, the knockoffs of more conventional Iron Man figures had better hip and leg articulation than the original Hot Toys versions. Also, as has been discussed recently elsewhere in the forum, die cast appears to be a cheaper solution, and it can cause balance issues and higher postage costs. Anyway, I think they could have done much better bringing this on the market a dozen Iron Men products ago. (No, I haven't actually counted them.)

I agree with you on all counts. HT Iron Man design is overextended, but IMHO this one proves they are not stagnant. The accumulated history of HT Iron Man productions is long and overwhelming and I think, simply, my first reaction focused on the difference between this one and its predecessors while your reaction and Stryker's, equally legitimate, focused on the similarities. It's not so much the diecast aspect that impresses me as novel (I have one HT Diecast IM, and am getting the Iron Patriot), but the sheer intricacy of that inner construction level. They've done something like it but nothing close to this level of detail, and I can't imagine a knockoff attempting anything like it.

And honestly, it's quite possible it took HT the learning curve of their last @12 Iron Men to become capable of designing this one. Imagine what they may be able to do @12 Iron Men from now!

In that respect, looks like they are moving to usb power instead of batteries for Ironmans.
