Very nice recreation and excellent kitbash in its own right. She looks great. As always, beautifully presented. Is this the male striped wife-beater shirt or is it a female one? If male, you made it fit much better than I did with my Gopnica.

I love the transition of the base floor and the backdrop. Looks so real as always. Lovely shots randam!

That is an excellent interpretation of the character, and the shots (as always) are excellent.

Thanks, guys. I'm happy that you like her.

@GF
That is the same male wife-beater shirt that you used for your Gopnica character. I made it a little tighter by shifting the lateral seams by 5mm to the center. It is still not ideal for a female character, but it works rather well on a S23B with its wider shoulders.

@Valiarde
I recently made the rather trivial "discovery" that the Windows Photoviewer lets you zoom and shift the photo in fullscreen mode. This helps a lot when matching the picture on the screen with the diorama pieces in the front.

Very well done. You re-sewed it? Impressive. You're right, the type of body one employs also makes a difference, although I think I also used an S23B (losing track).

Agree, that transition looks so real and the intense headsculpt was a perfect choice

So you don't have to wear radsuits and mask anymore in Metro? I am a bit out of the loop, only played the first two games.

Yes, it's very easy. I just inverted the shirt and made two new seams next to originals and then cut off the excess material (15 min work). This also makes the openings for the arms slightly smaller, so that it fits better.

@Ovy
In "Metro:Exodus", the Spartans leave the Metro tubes in Moscow and explore the countryside (by train), which is not as severely contaminated, and the player does not have to wear the gas mask all the time. It's a pretty nice game with great graphics.

Hi folks,

I recently found Kaneda's iconic bike from the "Akira"-movie for a decent price. I came in yesterday, and I had to take a few shots with it...

Armitage drifting like Kaneda...

Wow, that one is cool! What is a decent price in your opinion? On eBay offers lay between 600 and 1400 bucks.

I just got the message that my preordered Cyberpunk figure arrived after 18 months. Now I have to look for a matching bike.

Anna from Metro Exodus is a great kitbash, though some weathering might be fine. The clothes are far too clean for the setting. I hated that game. I won every fight and in the last scene, I was told that I have to die now because I haven't gathered enough karma throughout the game.

I'm very happy that I bought this bike. It is really beautiful and pretty well designed (the core/frame seems to be diecast with outer body parts made out of plastic).

@ElBundy
I paid 550€ (including shipping), which is pretty close to the original price when it was released last year.  Given that it is sold out almost everywhere, I feel really lucky to have found it at this price in an Italian toy shop.
I've enjoyed Metro:Exodus. I saw the good ending, but I actually did not know about Karma points. I plan to weather Anna's outfit at some point, but I will finish her gear first...

@Stryker2011
These are real stickers on the bike, so one could possibly remove them. But chances are that this will mess up the shiny surface of the plastic. Thus, i would not recommend it.

Akira will always be a classic favorite, and that bike is so freakin' iconic. Nice to see it photographed so well with a custom character; it's like if Cloud Strife had a daughter and she came to the Neo-Tokyo universe under an older Kaneda's mentorship. Can you imagine if they made a new Akira film with the animation style of Advent Children and had bike chase scenes similar to that movie? Would be so awesome.

At least, a live-action remake of "Akira" has been in pre-production for ages. I wouldn't be surprised to see a new adaptation within the next few years. Of course, the bike sequence would also look fantastic in a modern animation movie. I just hope that an "Akira" remake does not drop the philosophical subtones of the original (like we have seen it with the Hollywood-adaptations of "Ghost in the Shell" or "Gunm").

The reason I'd say stick to Japanese direction of animation and not allow Hollywood to get their hands on it in live-action: I do remember several years back when a director was in the process of attempting a live-action Akira which instead became a found-footage superhero origin film known as Chronicle (much in the same way an attempted Halo project became the film District 9, which was actually quite good as it's own 'thing'). So long as a live-action adaptation doesn't follow the path of attempts like the aforementioned Ghost in The Shell, Resident Evil, and Dragonball Evolution movie. Hollywood has built up a lot of fan-favorite anime/video game adaptations of Japanese media, and utterly destroyed them in the transition. So as you said, there is something direly lost in the conversion from anime to live-action, unless there is a damn good director who understands both mediums.

This is such a cool and unique character, transplanting that hair was a genius move. Also love those light reflections on the bike.

And regarding adaptions, I think even if the director is a total fan and expert of the source material, the studio and marketing people will press them to make it more (main)streamlined for average Western audiences who have never heard of the original. Better leave Hollywood etc out of it completely, haha.

Here is another of my countless attempts to create a dynamic fighting scene. I think I really need to use support wires and stands in the further, as it is extremely frustrating when the figures continously fall over in more daring poses.

Well, whatever you did worked beautifully. Both in terms of the posing and the appearance -- and of both figures and background. From the point of view of exploring or demonstrating the capabilities of the figures, I prefer to avoid artificial supports as much as possible.

I hate supports as they have to be „photoshopped“ from the pic again ( and I have only basic picture programmes and I am no use at using them).

In these pictures all three figures stand on their own, but I had several "domino"-crashes when BW lost her balance. I considered putting magnets in her shoes and placing a metal plate under the diorama floor (similar to Triad Toys' old Bullet time-stands), but I would be too much effort (if it works at all).

Noooo, getting rid of the high heels is out of the question... Laughing
Of course, you are completely right, I should actually get some better armored shoes for her from the golden Saintess Knight figure. BTW I also try to avoid postprocessing of photos, as I lack the time to learn how to use the photo software.

The goblins are from the Mythic Legions line (1/12). I love them a lot, because they are such cool critters. They are quite expensive (ca. 50 Euros per figure), though.
