"Mr. Spock has orders to kill you, Captain. He will succeed... apparently. You will also appear to have killed him after a fierce battle. Regrettable, but it will leave me in command."
In the Star Trek: The Original Series “Mirror, Mirror” episode some members of the Enterprise crew are transported to a parallel dimension where the benevolent Federation never existed and instead the morally corrupt Terran Empire reigns. Star Trek has revisited this universe in various shows, with some of the most popular characters coming from this world.

EXO-6 is releasing the second figure in the Mirror Universe line with Security Chief Sulu, the scarred and very evil double of the Enterprise’s Lieutenant Sulu. This Sulu is ambitious, homicidal and a sexual predator that will do anything to become captain.

George Takei had a large scar on his face for this portrayal and had fun with the sly, evil grins. EXO-6 has recreated this look in detail for this 1:6 scale museum quality action figure. Standing 11.5 inches tall, every element, from his 23rd century uniform to his Terran awards are authentically reproduced. The original portrait sculpt of Takei as Mirror Sulu has an authentic, hand-painted likeness.

THE EXO-6 MIRROR UNIVERSE SULU 1:6 SCALE ARTICULATED FIGURE INCLUDES:
Fully Articulated Body: More than 30 points of articulation allow the figure to be displayed in multiple dynamic poses, approximately 28 cm tall.

Realistic Portrait: Sulu’s portrait is lovingly rendered by top artists, with an excellent likeness of Takei and his maniacal smirk. Each head sculpt is specially hand-painted.

Terran Empire Uniform: Meticulously researched, this uniform matches the pattern and color of the original costume recreated in 1:6 scale. Magnets are sewn into the uniform so the phaser and dagger can be attached. The Terran insignia and medals are permanently attached to his tunic. (The uniform is not removeable.)

Boots: Using leather-like material cut in the original style of the footwear worn in Star Trek: The Original Series.

Hands: A total of eight interchangeable hands are included so he can be displayed holding the various accessories or doing the Terran salute.

Display Base: A hexagonal display base featuring the transporter pad will provide additional support for the figure. Two different inserts for the floor of the base can represent the transporter pad or the center of the transporter array.

Autograph card: An informational card that can used to get an autograph from the performer and displayed with your figure.

EQUIPMENT
Mirror Sulu is well equipped for terrorizing enemies of the Empire. He comes equipped with:

Phaser Type 2/ Type 1: The pistol-grip type 2 phaser is the weapon of choice for any landing party expecting hostile aliens. The smaller Type 1 phaser can be removed and used separately. Both have magnets allowing either to be worn on the utility belt or directly on the pants as they were in the 3rd season.
Dagger and sheath: Standard issue for Terran Empire officers, the dagger is perfect for up close and personal assassinations.
Communicator: This accurately styled communicator features a real metal flip-up antenna. Includes a magnet so it can attach to the pants.
This fine collectible figure continues EXO-6’s Mirror Universe line and a great addition to your EXO-6 Star Trek™ 1:6-scale figure collection.

Height: 11.5 in, (28 cm)
Materials: ABS, PVC, natural and synthetic fabrics.
Art Box Dimensions: 35.3 x 19.6 x 9.1 cm

LOL Takei at his weirdest. Is this episode really that popular that instead of making more characters they are revisiting these in this context? Of course, my question may well betray my near utter ignorance of the Trek. Smile

Well, they basically are "new characters," in a Multiverse kind of a way - from a "Mirror" universe, hence the name.  Nobody's going to buy this guy because they just want a Sulu (and gosh knows I do).  They have very different personalities from "our guys," so these are not so much revisiting, as making villains figures.  Also from a marketing point of view they have an edgy warrior bad- ss vibe that's probably extra sellable.

Where that factor could really kick in X 4 would be if they did a proper Mirror Universe Uhura, which would sell out immediately.  (But this assumes Nanjin got past his non-seamless phase).  If she'd be on a seamless AA female body, that would sell tons right there, plus the Mirror look on Uhura is just impossibly sexy.  Even people who aren't Trek fans, but have been getting all the TBL warrior women etc, would buy that one, just on visual appeal.  And QMX never made an Uhura at all so there's pent up demand, while the new Star Trek show features Uhura prominently so there's increased awareness.

I think the other undercurrent to this product stream is, sort of showing off improvements of Exo-6 over QMX, but without a full on duplicate figure of the same exact characters QMX did, at least for the time being...

Makes a lot of sense, MBAM. I suspected the second part would be some of the motivation. But you're very right about a potential seamless Uhura. I suspect that even a non-seamless one would not be a total dud.

I’m not sure what body he used, but Nanjin does seem to have recognized the appeal of the seamless body. Seven, for example is on some sort of seamless body (apparently outsourced it), as he knew the importance of how good she needs to look underneath that skin-tight catsuit.

As for the Mirror Universe, MBAM is correct on a lot of points, as has been discussed by Schubert (Nanjin) himself. He’s trying to avoid immediately jumping into duplicates already done by QMX, and also giving them a Big FU for the way they treated not only his beloved Trek, but also he himself. Not sure when we’ll get an Uhura, as he’s such a stickler for details that he claims to be making bodies specific to her 60s style of figure. Also, the Mirror Universe pretty much was used over all the different series, so his goal is to make other MU figures from those shows, not just the TOS.
