I so much prefer this Dracula compared to Kaustic Plastik recent/other Dracula

..but what version to go for?
I think the coffin is a must. I am not so sure i need/want the web edition complete with wall/door

I PO'd the Deluxe Lugosi version, so not sure I need this fella, but man does he look incredible. It's going to be pricey, just like the other one, but if this is the guy you like, I'd say go for broke and get the whole thing (that door is sort of an iconic moment that is often seen in clip montages over on TCM).

Bela Lugosi looks good. I have never watched the movie (..or movies?)
Maybe i should go for a door version. I will think it over for now. I might not be able to pre_order until 2023

I think the slight issue i have with the door is not os much the concept as the fact it looks very plastic. Unlike the coffin for example, which looks better.

A figure like this one -- heavily fancyful, plus, in a style that is 100 years old -- really benefits IMHO by being surrounded with elements that put it in context, like the door and the coffin. I can't see him just standing up alone on the shelf between Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne or something. Kaustik Plastik has done an excellent job here. I was very happy with the Mezco 1-12 version recently but maybe I need this 1-6 one as well.

I think MBAM makes an excellent point. The companion pieces help contextualize the figure.

I need a quarter-mil a year job, man! This hobby is for the Top Five Percent now!

At these prices, it's not really "toy collecting," is it?

But... is it "art collecting?"

I dunno what it is.

That'd be a topic for a separate discussion, though.

This Nosferatu fig is almost certainly going to be a jointed fig on a relatively "cheap" plastic body, isn't it? It's not like the level of detail or quality extends beyond what is visible: the head sculpt, the hands, and the costume.

There’s been numerous posts over the years about “investment” collecting, and as DFC used to say, it’s a crap shoot. Most people looking at these as “future investments” are fools. You have to watch and study the market closely, just like the stock market. The figures only sell for what the highest idiot (and I do mean idiot) is willing to pay — sometimes those numbers are high, and other times you’ll see listings sitting on Scam Bay for years. Newbies seem to be the most susceptible to paying obscene prices, but seasoned collectors tend to be a bit more cautious. With the world’s economy getting intentionally run into the ground by corrupt and greedy politicians, there really isn’t room for speculating in hobbies. I collect what I want, and don’t give a damn about return investment. I don’t keep the boxes, so like a new car, all my stuff gets opened, and as soon as I do that I figure it’s already lost a large chunk of its value.

I'm in the process now of transferring the accessories and bits and pieces into labeled zip-bags and throwing out the boxes for the same reason.

I began de-boxing and tossing out most of the packaging several years ago, in an effort to psychologically force myself to completely stop thinking about "future value" and to only purchase items that I want and will enjoy. For the most part this has worked out pretty well, with few regrets. A few, yes, but only a few.

I wish I'd kept the box for General Grievous. It is the only figure I've purchased that I wished I hadn't. Would be nice to be able to sell him and get my money back.

NOSFERATU 100TH ANNIVERSARY 1:6 Figure by Kaustic Plastik

Arrived today Smile
I am super impressed by the figure. The base has some weight to it.

The top photo is how the figure looks.
The bottom photo has been desaturated to make it look like the movie.

Awesome, Shaun. I’ve seen so many insanely cool pics of this figure. Kaustic is really nailing their figures lately.

Kaustic do appear to have developed their own unique style when it comes to their figures.
I cannot wait to see what they have planned for the future.
A Klaus Kinski Nosferatu would be good to see.
