I like it a lot, too. There may have been something similar already, and I am no expert on equine physiology. Anyway, they look great together, another epic Chinese fantastical set.

im no expert but these dont look as good as 303 or in flames releases of a similar ilk?

The horse looks like a modified version of the Duweime (?) horse, in a rearing pose.

While there are some anatomical and pose issues on the horse, it will work for those who aren't as particular as I am.

I know another woman from the model horse scene and she is absolutely enthusiastic about it (tbf she doesn't say everything looks perfect on it, but great enough on the head and pose)
But then again even in the horse modelling scene, views can differ  

Yes, well, it's not too bad compared to a lot of similar attempts out there. I think it will be a nice display item or good for dramatic scenes.

I'm not personally into overly specific horse model poses, because I prefer ones that can be more versatile, so perhaps I'm already predisposed to not being super enthusiastic about something like this. But I hope those who get it make really good use out of it for photoshoots, etc.

I agree on overly specific poses and expressions in general. In this particular instance, I have the feeling that the pose chosen might even be rooted in a piece of art or some art trope, though I can't recall the particulars. That might be throwing off some of the realism.

Maybe the genre you are thinking of an equestrian portrait or equestrian statue. Inspired by classical art, found often in renaissance, baroque, neoclassical, etc. Usually used for depictions of some high-ranking individual or military event. Some famous ones are the equstrian portraits of Charles V, and Napoleon Leading the Army Over the Alps:

Neither of these two rearing releases do anything for me personally, tbh. I'm just trying to be encouraging those who seem to really want it to work for their purposes. :p
