The GALAC-TAC Trooper is a license built figure on behalf of the GALAC-TAC company who produce the 1/1 scale helmet and the armour. The Trooper is designed around a modern military Operator in an urban environment and his equipment and weapons are based on current military issue. A Sci-fi twist has been incorporated in the form of the amour and helmet.

Very cool set, like the rest of its kind. Does anyone know if the face is supposed to be any specific actor?

Not that I know of. For a small company they really do make some nice stuff. They are from Dorgmal Snow, a respected name in 1/6 circles.

While the Boba Fett-style helmet is cool, it is hardly standard-issue. There are a few small groups allowing themselves to be test monkeys, but all the ballistic tests I’ve seen so far aren’t very promising. While from certain angles of trajectory a bullet may not penetrate the shell, it will still cause enough cranium damage to cause a certain amount of brain damage, and a direct shot will still kill you (depending on caliber). So all in all, all I see is minimal visual range and barely any difference between this and a regular issue helmet other than a cool factor.

Well, I was responding more to the look than the functionality or the accuracy (of which I would know next to nothing myself). I didn't even realize that this is being tested out for real.
