1/6 Scale 89 Batman Armory Custom (3D Print)

I display my Hot Toys Batmans (or should I say Batmen  Laughing ) in Detolf. So far I got Dark Knight and BvS Batman displayed with Armory. However, my favorite 89/92 Tim burton Batman is just displayed - so I decided to make him his Armory.
As usual, I started with 3D model

Quick Modeling of the Armory from 89 Movie. Sadly the grey box on left is my printer's maximum printable size. I need to chop it into pieces and put them back together.

Of course, it's gotta open

Parts hollowed and laid out for Print. It looks like I need to print 10 pieces (each print takes about 1/2 - 1 day)

It opens as designed

Still need more sanding

Scale checking with the Armory owner

Looks about right

Very cool. 3D printing is the future of this hobby.

The Michael Keaton Batman is one of my favourites.

It sounds counterintuitive but I think the correct word is "Batmans"

That's pretty awesome. That's going to look pretty bad-ass when it's all painted up.

Looking good, KyeKye!
I like the translucent green stuff, i'm thinking its nice for making Green Lantern's constructs.
You mentioned your BvS Batman is displayed with armory... did you custom-build it?

Yeah it just sounds funny when you say Batmen

It's gonna take lots of paint!  Laughing

Yeah. the green is kinda cool as it is.
BvS Batman armory I'm using is 'The Arms Depot' I got before Hot toys release the official one. So, it's not the correct  cylinder style.

Deeply cool.

Putty and sandpaper are your friends when looking to hide those seams.

And, the native green color can be very useful for Kryptonite pieces, too. Batman never travels far without it. As he says..."Superman has gone rogue before."

Thank you for showing us.

Oh man, this is so rad!!!! I feel like this has so many potential uses besides a Batman armory too. It's just such a stunning design. And I'm with Rollotomasi that the green is really striking all on it's own (although I'm sure it'll get a killer paint job by the time it's done). Really awe inspiring. Looking forward to watching this build come together.

Thank you for nice comments.
Still going around sanding-prime-sanding cycle. Someday, I'll get a bigger printer to skip this part Razz
mini-update.
Working on the Door armory part. There are a couple of gadget at the bottom of door that I can't figure out, so I'm improvising... Suspect

The one on the right is some sort of 'Tracker' - with directional indicator and distance indicator.
The one on the left...I have no idea. It looks like it has cartridge and it shoots out something?

Awesome build, that is indeed fascinating to follow! Do you plan on doing a turtleneck Keaton to hold the door? that would be soooo iconic (at least it is for old men like me lol)

That's the plan. Also working on Alfred.

  • Phase1: Vault Base + Gadget

  • Phase2: Alfred + BW mod + Vault Rock wall

Roughly made Back-wall of the Vault (It seemed a waste to make this part with 3D print.
Also painted the parts after sanding. (Matt Black -> Metalic Steel -> Clear Blue -> Semi Glossy top coating)

Now waiting for Alfred base body/glasses + some material for Rock wall..
Please let me know if you have a Ebay source of good turtle neck T-shirts Smile

Came out fantastic as expected!
I wanted to do Bruce in turtle neck, so i bought one locally but when i got home and put it on the body,
the fabric is too thin that you can see a bit of the flesh plastic when the fabric stretches!

Ooohh, this is going to be interesting. Michael Gough in 1/6 scale... thought I’d never see the day. Such an interesting character actor.
