I'm making my own Hannibal Barca Figure and I will like to know what and where is the best Hannibal armor and clothing?

I know I ask a lot but I really need help with this one.
.
Can you help me please?

I don't even know where you would start, in practical terms. Barca is not his family name, it is the epithet ("the Thunderbolt") of his father Hamilcar. I can't think of any surviving depictions of Hannibal other than a possible Roman bust and a possible coin (where the features of the depicted Hercules are supposedly based on those of the historical Hannibal).

Bust:

Coin:

You can try looking for a head sculpt that has reminiscent features to those sources, or more generally head sculpts of Semitic people (he was a Carthaginian, which means Phoenician); there are a few Israeli and a few more other Middle Eastern head sculpts out there.

As for clothing or armor, that is not going to be straightforward either. There is some agreement that the Carthaginians were heavily reliant on Greek and Celctic mercenaries and adopted Greek and Celtic equipment. Here are some images from Osprey (and similar) books on military equipment.

Keep in mind these images are all somewhat conjectural and depict a variety of trooper types and cultural origins, as well as time periods.

Here are links to Osprey books:

Hope this helps.

I can imagine the Liam Cunningham headsculpt would look good, or Jeff Bridges.

Carthaginians during the Punic Wars basically wore the same armour as the Greeks at the time. All of it was the "tube and yoke" style. Scale, mail, leather, linen, and bronze plate would all have been used. Thracian style helmets were most popular but they also wore Iberian and Montefortino styles too. Don't use the fantasy costume worn by Vin Deisel, but a Vin Deisel head sculpt would be cool. Hannibal would likely have worn either mail or scale armour. Mail would be my guess based on the time period.

The Mars of Todi statue is a good example of scale armour in this style. This statue is Etruscan but the armour was worn all over the Aegean and Mediterranean.

Carthiginian mail would have been in a similar style to the Roman hamata, perhaps with a different way of fastening the shoulder flaps.

I have fond memories of watching the Shaka Zulu series as a kid.

it'd be fun to make your own!
(gathering the materials would probably be as hard as making the outfit)

Wow, thanks for that link, GregT! All of those are awesome -- I want the figures from Germanic Myth and Legend!

Yes thanks so much GregT! That Zulu Outfit will fit my Shaka Project well. I wonder if they'll make a full blown Hannibal Barca Outfit.

now we have another warlord on the list and he's Mel Gibsons William Wallace. But I'm kinda skeptical after how much a supposed friend insulted Shaka loss to William Wallace in Deadliest Warrior

I am aiming for a Deadliest Warrior actor collection of Scale Figure so you will never know who is next

Shaka Zulu, nice idea! Had this in mind too for a while when I saw the M36 body. I think lamb wool could work for the furry parts. . And for the cow hide on the shield - it has a rather simple pattern, I guess that could be recreated without too much problems.
A Henry Cele headsculpt would be awesome.

But I don't make historical figures I guess, but future historic ones; fun fact I used the Djimon Hounsu headsculpt on the M36:
https://onesixthfigures.forumotion.com/t2092-africalypse-m36-character-prototype-started?highlight=Africalypse

I will try to make some photos whitout the covered neck when I find time so you know what to expect. One sad thing about this body, it has no grip hands for his Iklwa spear or shield, because it's a sports figure.

And to jump on the nostalgia and reference train:

Ovy That's actually a pretty good.
