You should just say, "the hilarity continues..." ! 
It's amazing how so many of these serious or neutral expressions are perfect for comic situations when you set it up right.
I've been at war with neighborhood rodents for several years (live in the country), so at some point I'm hoping those two are going to see "elimination" when discovered by said grunts.
