Oops, we did it again... but with new material and more freestyle presentation. It got a bit photo heavy, but I hope you enjoy it. Smile

Ha, wow, great set up, eclectic group of characters, and hilarious photo story as always. XD

I'm probably biased, but one of my favourite thing about this sccene is the Coruscant backdrop.... ;D

That was pretty funny, Guv. Love the setup and the diverse characters. I didn’t know you had a Mandalorian.

FREE GRIDNEY!!! That other space tart had it coming!

As usual I have no idea what's going on, but still manage to enjoy and chuckle at the absurdity of the Maul bartenders and spacesuit man playing backup to your "singers."  Razz

Thanks, I was aiming at some hilarity. Smile The Coruscant backdrop is gorgeous. If I knew who made it, I would have credited it.

Thank you very much. Well... I always liked the Boba Fett-like helmet, so I got that... then I saw your Mandalorian, and got more of the pieces until I reconstituted the figure but on a DAM body and without any padding, which keeps him quite poseable.

Chip wrote:Great fun , I particularly liked the Bar staff even if they were not the centre of attention . Very Happy

Thank you, I'm glad they were noticed. Decided not to have them sing and dance along with Gridney this time, but I did try to keep them engaged.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it even without spotting the references. It's a satire on a couple of popular pop songs and the whole sing off or dance off trend (which I know mostly from movies). Spacesuit Man (except for the head, based on the DID astronauts, Aldrin in particular), and the red body suit are a reference to a different Britney Spears music video, the one I used for the previous satire actually (but back then I didn't have the red body suit).

Oh, Gridney.  The correct answer is “It was an accident. I was just dancing and didn’t realize that she was right behind me.”

Obviously this planet doesn’t know Brittany as well as Earth does.

YOU HAVE 1 ASTRONAUT?! Is there more footage of him?

Beautiful job, I love that even the Magic Mauls change their position in each pic.

Otherwise, reading this was like the Lord of the Rings. A lot of song text which I didn't know the melody for. Razz

LOL That would have made more sense indeed, but we don't want to be sensible, do we? Smile "Oh, Gridney" is right.

Yep, I put together one astronaut from the DID set(s) with parted out pieces. Here I swapped the head -- can you tell who it is supposed to be (although I realize it is only visible -- and not well -- in one shot)? Anyway, I will try to show more photos soon. He is staying geared up anyway.

I try to pick really well-known pop songs to use for my satires, so it is unfortunate the lyrics don't ring enough of a bell, although I'm sure you've heard them at some point -- they were played a lot; then again, they are not very recent (and I would know even less about more recent music). So, anyway, here are the music videos, I hope they make more sense of it -- although this time I was keeping the posing freestyle and not trying to imitate the videos.

For the Britney clone, the song here is --

But the visual reference is from this -- which was the song for the previous Gridney appearance --

And the song for Gridney in this instance is --

Ah well, thanks a lot, now I remember having heard these songs. Many many times, actually. But today might be the day I heard any of these creative, sex positive, intersectional feminist works of art voluntarily for the first time. Also new cultural bridges and gateways opened for me after having skimmed through- eh -watched these thought provoking melodic short films, which finally enables me to appreciate all the hard work you put into the references and quoting of imagery . I have been a blind man in a sea of colors. And no I have no idea who that astronaut is, but it is neither Clint Eastwood nor Yuri Gagarin I am sure.

She's back! Those imperials are doing comiting a big mistake by arresting her. Also that astronaut by no means does he look out of place, at all, dude probably "Spaced out" and ended up there.

Also, the song Gridney sang and that you linked a youtube video is unavailable in my "country" what a weird time to be an internet user. 😂

As Ovy noted, the Maul Rats changing position in every pic is a fun detail that enhances the "life" of the sequence!

Ovy, I already knew you to be a consummate artist, but I did not realize you were such a masterful poet. Truly, your talents are boundless! Smile Glad I refreshed your memory. I posted photos of the astronaut HERE, hope this helps. Smile

Ah, the astronaut may have spaced out in his travel through space -- and maybe time. Smile I know, little did the authorities know the trouble that would break out from arresting Gridney. Sorry about the "country" limitation of the video (this is so utterly stupid) -- but if it helps, it is Milkshake by Kellis. Perhaps a different version will not be blocked.

davidd wrote:As Ovy noted, the Maul Rats changing position in every pic is a fun detail that enhances the "life" of the sequence!

Thank you, I did think it incumbent upon me to make sure that they move around at least a little between shots, although I wasn't sure whether it would actually be detectable. I entertained the idea of them providing synchronized dancing moves or singing back up vocals, but decided on a more freestyle presentation.

As in "this is ground control to Major Tom," etc? I like the song (though not the official video, in which David Bowie is at his weirdest). A very good suggestion (and one I might put to good use in the future), but you already identified him correctly in the Astronaut thread.

Yes. Exactly that Bowie song. I think it fits lyrically into his ending up somewhere else.

Love your sense of humor, it’s my kind of weird! I also liked the Maul Rats changing poses, it can be a lot of work doing the between shot tweaks.
Keep the fun coming.
Perhaps a protest down at the lockup?

Awesome photostory Gub, I always enjoy your concepts and the humor they carry, that's just great (and I love that bar, what did you use to make it...?)

Agreed with SKy that Coruscant background is gorgeous and gives a very cool atmosphere to the whole scene!

Thank you very much, I'm glad you liked it. As for the bar, it is made (or covered with) these modular sci fi panels I picked up a long time ago from Big Bad Toy Store (I think) -- though at this point I forget what they are called and who made them. I have used them before. They are pretty basic, 3D patterned squares that can be attached to each other with simple rectangular connectors  in the cut-aways. They all have the same pattern, but you can vary it a little by rotating it, and if you really want you could double those options by flipping it over to the other side. Especially if you settle on a particular design, I suppose you could really enhance it with some weathering or coloring. I think it was probably intended for 1:18 scale, but if you connect the panels at the height of two or more, you could use them for 1:12 and 1:6 scale. Here are some photos I just took to illustrate:

Awesome, I'm gonna have to look around for these!

I recently assembled an "ubiquitous" set for a friend, not only was it a pain in the ass on all levels, but there is no way you unbuild it later to make another configuration, that's the real joke lol... And even with the additionnal sets, the potential for 1/6th scale photography is a bit limited
