In the 1980s classic movie, Back to the Future, the lovable teenage Marty McFly is accidentally sent thirty years into the past in a DeLorean time machine by his eccentric scientist friend Doc Brown. Travelling through time, Marty encounters young versions of his parents, and must race the clock to ensure they fall in love or he'll cease to exist.

a DeLorean would have me sold...maybe a guitar for the boy?

The dog looks terrible. What is Hot Toys’s problem with doing animals; for the money they’re charging for this set they should hire Mr. Z or JXK to do their animals.

Ah, I see now where the dog statue comes in (looks like it might be able to rotate its head). They've done Marty twice already, but who can complain about a new head sculpt? At least it isn't just a repaint, and it is not overly emotive. The figure looks great with these clothes and accessories, quintessentially 80s. I'd be tempted to pick up some of the pieces for a kitbash, but expect it to be super pricey.

I guess they have decided the average price is c. $280 now. And others will follow. Got to love them.

So, let me get this straight. Finally we get a BttF (1) Doc Brown (as opposed to BttF II) to go with the Marty and the DeLorean they sold me, like, years ago. Still suffers inexplicably from the exaggerated facial expression, so HT must think that he kept it non-stop through all the movies. (I'd love it if it was one of a 2 head set, but too limiting to be the one and only, esp same on two figures).

But if I get this Doc Brown Deluxe, then HT will have received from me my Marty(#1) $ + my DeLorean $ + my Doc Brown Deluxe $, and yet, I don't get Einstein? unless I buy Marty again??? And they even rub it in by giving Doc Brown a chronometer that goes on Einstein. Boy, they're not thinking fourth-dimensionally.

But they are thinking with their own personal bank accounts. I think Howard’s made it pretty clear over the last 8-ish years, that he cares little about the collectors and more about his own personal interests and gains. Sadly, I broke down and ordered the deluxe Doc and this Marty (even though I don’t have a DeLorean), and maybe… just maybe… I’ll add real hair to Doc. So, I’m adding to Howard’s bank account with my own stupidity.

I agree Stryker, they should have just outsourced Einstein to one of those companies. Einstein is the worst part of the set for me.

Received mine last week, but finally got around to putting him together. The dog is definitely the weakest point, as has already been pointed out. Poor Einstein.

He looks great! And the dog looks good to me, too! Quite adorable and definitely recognizable. Just the main bulk of the fur looks a little flat, but that can be fixed. A simple wash of a medium to dark greyish brown, followed by a white/cream dry brushing. Or something like that.

Marty's great. I get the point about the dog, but from this distance he looks quite good to me.
