Thanks!

The suit manufacturer advised S21 body, but I decided to use S35 instead because of the height and size, Rei is supposed to be a high school kiddo.

Also did try on a S26 body(got this to prep for the VS Toys Rei Ayanami school uniform version), and that was too petite for the plugsuit.

I'm not familiar with the show apart from knowing it exists, but looks like a nice custom figure.

Looks cool, I remember seeing Evangelion stuff some time ago on local stores but that's the extent of my knowledge. It's a cool suit regardless and a neat little custom.

Great figure and posing. There are so many TBL bodys. That character could be fine in a one of these slim teenage bodys ? but the fantastic suit will not fit then anymore... scratch

Nice recreation of the character and some of her statue poses.

Plenty of trial and errors.... but managed to scale up to nearly 1/6, and had to chop it up since my printer ain't big enough. (220x220x240 mm only)

About 1/3 done, and 2/3 more to go.

It's very cool to see you well on your way to making her vehicle in 3D.

Agreed. This is a really cool craft to be making, and well suited to printing out.

Thanks all!

Actually still quite a rookie in the 3D printing world.... and encountered just 1 burnout too.

Wasted half a reel of filament, but nonethless, I managed to used the remaining filament for this.

My initial scaling print, which became a make shift model, that's on top of the acrylic.

So, only after printing the back, I realized that it is still under scale.

Thus it's a set back of another month.

Back to the drawing board and I increased the scaling from 300% to 400% this time round.

Vehicles, including ones from real life, are often a little underscale in our hobby. What you had already done looked plausible, but I understand the impulse to make it right.

This is SO cool! Seeing labors of love like this is one of my favorite things about the hobby. Everything is coming along very nicely.

I have the figma versions of Asuka and Mari, so I can appreciate what you’re trying to do. I never got around to picking up Rei, but if you need any reference shots of the other two in their plugs, just let me know.

I’m surprised I haven’t seen more 1/6 Evangelion girls in 1/6, especially Asuka. I always thought it was kind of odd how the male characters have been all but completely ignored when it comes to merchandising, but that seems to happen a lot in Asia. Look at all the Rems, Rams, and Emilias available with no sign of Subaru who’s the star of the show (Re: Zero).

Actually, there have been Evangelion figures in 1/6 that were mainly made by Medicom. I remember that there were Rei and Asuka figures released about five years ago. Also, Takara had an Asuka figure in the Cool Girl line -- but this is from antediluvian times, of course.

Oh man. Sorry to hear about the scaling issues. One of the odd ways in which I used to scale at least the throne and arch for my Jabba diorama was to measure the size of Jabba himself, and his throne from the figure against photographs of the same. Really helped to get an accurate representation of that section of the diorama. Same technique could work in the case of her vehicle.
