Had the same idea and expected they'd change it anyway.

Scary thing is Amelia admitted they hadn't caught their error until I pointed it out. Don't know how long it would have gone unnoticed, or before someone brought it to their attention. (I can just imagine some might try to argue with them that they "need to honor" their mistake -- in fact, I've seen that very argument play out over at the Freaks for a different vender and item.)

Well, if they return the original money paid, it should be ok -- and the buyer can choose whether or not to spend the full cost.

I’d be surprised if anyone paid in full up front. The deposit was the same for either the standard or the Berserker. I opted to go with just the standard, as I plan to use everything but the head for a completely different character (the Barbarian character from my wife’s book), so it didn’t really matter to me.

It depends on the local contract laws. When making an online purchase, the contract is usually considered to be sealed when payment is accepted by the vendor and confirmation of the order is received by the buyer. In the US and many other countries, the vendor has the option of cancelling and refunding in full. In the UK and the EU, however, the vendor does not have this option unless there is a specific clause on their site that says the price is considered to be an "invitation to treat".

I had to put this in my shop policies to legally protect myself from buyers in the UK/EU:

Note that the items in this store are listed as an "invitation to treat". Sales are not finalised until the item is dispatched. The seller reserves the right to cancel a sale at any time before this stage.

If an online vendor cancels a sale to someone in the EU/UK after the order has been confirmed, and they don't have the above clause in their terms and conditions, they are legally obligated to go through with the sale. They would have to very nicely convince the buyer to agree to the cancellation. Most would accept a full refund and leave it at that, but if one customer knew the law and chose to pursue it, it could get very expensive.

I know a bunch of you are viking fans. Maybe you've seen this already, but i just saw the trailer for Northman and it looks pretty good. I think they look authentic, although I have no expertise in that area.

Thanks for the video, Craig. I'm thinking of it as a grittier version of Prince Valiant. The casting looks good, and Nicole Kidman would be brilliant as an Ice Queen.

That looks like a really good cast, and pretty decent costumes for once. And it's by the same director who did one of my fave folk horror films, The VVitch.

Jeeez (or Thoor), these are just too beautiful to look at, just like the Coo Knights or the Pop Samurai (especially the Samurai).
Too many great things in these, exactly what I need actually and I should buy one, but I want to make a discount fantasy version myself I guess....

The best and most historically accurate depiction of vikings is still found in Norwegian show "Norsemen":

Mine arrived today (EL003). I opened it up and had a quick look. I said above that it would only be worth the price to me if I could get two figures out of it and it looks like I can. There are some minor deviations but it looks pretty close to the promo pics. The mail shirt is the best miniature mail that I've ever seen. Should have some pics in a day or two.

Here is the figure that came in the box. It is pretty close to the promo pics. The main difference is the bound hands. In the promo the hands look like they are bound in cloth. In this version the bindings are painted. Overall I'm very happy with it.

I'm not putting a helmet on this guy because I like the head sculpt. I'm putting together a second figure using the rest of the accessories.

He looks great. Nice posing with those wings, by the way.
