Very striking, if slightly stylized figures. They really look good, although personally I find such over-the-top sexploitation a little cringeworthy.

Agree. The figures are nearly there for me just missing like 50% of their clothes (and the heads don't help either)...but otherwise, yeah Smile

Some nice neon cyberpunk vibes.

Seems to be original creations... Google search for noah project or Sequence to Zero doesn't turn up anything similar in kind.

There’s things I like about these like the weapons and gadgets, and I actually don’t mind the head sculpts at all. The clothing… well, it is what it is, but I guess no more ridiculous then some of the outfits in The Fifth Element, so it could be salvaged.

My first impression was a positive one, but when I see how they worked the bottom section of the body suit I question the overall quality standards. If that even makes it onto the promo pics...

I've been wanting sci fi female figures for forever!!
Sadly these aren't it. The rifle is nice as are some of the cyberwear, like the mask, but overall they look far too much like cyber sex workers! (Which might be useful for somebody, I guess?)
Add the molded hair headsculps with flat makeup, and the poorly cut/stitched outfits, and its a hard no from me.

Ahh well, the long wait for female sci fi continues.

I totally agree. It's not a total drought though -- the pending Wandering Earth figure looks excellent (https://onesixthfigures.forumotion.com/t4228-new-product-damtoys-1-6-wandering-earth-cn171-11-rescue-team-medical-soldier-girl-zhou-qian-dms036), and personally I loved TBL's Galaxy Soldier (though I know some did not). Before that, you probably have to go all the way back to wonderful Cy-Girl Aurora, pausing along the way to regret that Hot Toys Laureline got cancelled. That's a spectacularly short list compared to some subject like "Witches" or "Barbarian Women."

Interesting discussion. It is true that TBleague has largely neglected the scifi-genre, as it much easier to design a halfway believable, scantily clad female fantasy warrior than a scifi heroine. I have to admit that the outfit of the Galaxy Soldier did not make any sense to me, and therefore I skipped it. But outside of the TBleague segment there were always a few interesting scifi release, e.g. the recent Purearts female "V." from the "Cyberpunk 2077" game, the VTS "Cyberlife Kara" from the "Detroit: Become human" game or the "Motoko Kusanagi"-figure from the "Ghost in the shell"-movie (Threezero and CatToys). Also, don't forget about the Star Wars releases (Rey, Jyn Erso, the upcoming female Mandlorians), HT's Ripley, AVP Machiko or Appleseed. The problem is that this IP-driven stuff sells much worse than your typical sword and chainmail-bikini chick (without paying licence fees). It is  really frustrating...

I like a lot of those figures, but most are fabric outfit based, and/or also very specific licensed characters. (Which are very recognizable, limiting kitbash/mix and match options. Not to mention costing a lot more, especially in the case of Cyberpunk 2077!!).

What I'd love to see, are more armoured, unlicensed figures. Think Halo style super soldiers and cyberpunk assasins. The  old Appleseed Deunen figure is one decent example of the style I want, but I sadly missed that one.
And as moonbase says, the Laureline figure would have been excellent.

I'm surprised TBL haven't tried it out yet. Look at figures like Royal Defender, which is 95% armoured. It wouldn't take much to replace the chainmail body suit and leather sections, with a rubberized bodysuit/pouches, and make the hard armour sections...'futurey'.
Given all the great video game characters out there, there is no shortage of inspiration.

I'm hoping for some Dune, lady Jessica or Chani still suit figures in the near future, which is a solid possibility. Probably going to be pricey though.

There was a custom Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow) exo-skeleton figure run made a few years back that looked pretty cool (not sure if it was ever finished as I lost track of it).

I understand now what kind of futuristic outfit you have in mind. Personally, I like the underlying asthetics, but would possibly restrain from buying such figures. I have the Takara Deunan Knute figure, and it is hard to pose and the rubber material feels very fragile -- so it's has been resting in the box for years. Pleather catsuits will eventually deteriorate, even when you are very careful with them. I have made too bitter experiences with my Bloodrayne figure in this respect (Dredd and Anderson will likely be next... Battlesuit Jill Valentine, Catwoman, Winter Soldier and Avengers BW are likely candidates on pleather death row), and thus I'm not going to buy this crappily designed stuff anymore. That said, I would buy the Flirty Girl "space battle armor" in a heartbeat, if they would reissue it. Combined with a black fabric catsuit and the Painkiller Jane-HS, I could finally make my long desired Mass Effect Femshep. Sweet dreams...  NEW PRODUCT: SPARK STUDIO: Sequence To Zero Series 1:6 Blood Sword & Ice Arrow Action Figures (Revised Edition) 1f60d

On the brighter side: Limtoys seems to look into making Aloy from "Horizons: Zero Dawn"... Keep your fingers crossed!

Continuing down this line of thought, I’m not sure whether ThreeA's Halo line is still alive, but if it is, the pattern of previous Halo releases suggest that they should be making Sarah Palmer or Holly Tanaka.

I might even have recommended the cheap ($10)  mass retail Jazwares 12" version of Tanaka, but she’s so armored you can’t tell she’s a female figure, at all.  Normally I would applaud a lack of sexualisation (and the lack of boob breastplate), but in this particular case it takes too much away.  Maybe with a custom replacement headpost that allowed headswaps to an unmasked head…

Ii was actually considering buying something like this, and then cutting it up, and dremmeling out the insides to make a hollow suit for a seamless/or BJD figure. Not sure if there would be enough space inside though?

I also saw people doing 3D printed armour parts (mostly male though). Sadly they are very pricey!

@Randam, I also don't like pleather. I've had some outfits barely last a year even! My "locomotive girl" jacket managed about 9 months before is started to crack!
I was thinking more like plastic sections imprinted on fabric, or fitted soft rubber like plastics, like some of the bikinis that have come with recent TBLs, only covering larger areas, like the midriff, neck, etc between hard armour parts.

Cobratrooper11

Cobratrooper11
I don't really feel excited by these...the outfits aren't that interesting, or the heads. If they were going for a cyberpunk 2077 style, which based on the chosen backgrounds they were, they missed it completely. They honestly should have looked at some cp2077 characters for inspiration, and spent more time making a better higher quality outfit for each. I mean I'd rather pony up for the v figure that was being made.

Have the CP2077 figs/bike actually been released? I've seen them around Google for pushing towards £300 (as much as £800 with the bike), but it just dawned on me, I've yet to see any in-hand shots or reviews. (Admittedly, at almost 3 big ones a piece, I've not looked that hard).

Randam Hajile

Yep, the CP2077 figures were released a few months ago. I've seen them listed as "in stock" in shops across Europe. I was mostly tempted by the bike, but then decided against it, because I don't like the appearance of the figures all that much.

At a smidge below 12”, which is taller than the Halo figures that Mattel made, she’s adequate height for a human figure (leaving aside whether this Spartan should be taller) but definitely on the skinny side.  I don’t think that you could wrap her armor bits around say a TBL body's limbs and close them off, but you could probably use her bits as plates with a bodysuit underneath.  The main issue then would be her chestplate/shoulders. This may be helpful: http://www.shesfantastic.com/2020/11/halo-12-spartan-tanaka.html

At 1/30th the cost of a Hot Toys figure, you could probably do worse than to buy one and experiment for yourself, which I'd love to see done.  At the absolute worst even if you had to throw away the whole figure, you could still do a good repaint on the rifle, and not have wasted all of your $10 money.

Thanks Randam and Moonbase for the info. Really helpful stuff.
I kinda wish I had the spare cash for a V and that bike now (Aside from the pleather, of course).

On the spartan figure, I wonder if a male 12" would be better, and then heat and reshape it to fit a female form better?
I might give this a go. As you say, worst case, I get a cool gun that should spray up nice.

@brassco, I was never much of a fan of that figure. It falls too much into the same arena as these Spark Studio figures. All about showing off breasts and skin, which I'm not totally adverse to, I'm no saint, but there are plenty of bikini warriors to cater for that. It'd be nice to have some sleek cyber armoured ladies, or bulky space soldiers, for a change.

The Yaibe Kusanagi bike from CP2077 is a real stunner. I was about to order the set with it, when I found the iconic bike from the Akira movie in 1/6 from Bandai. I had to order this bike despite the price, as it is the perfect match for my Naomi Armitage custom...

I ADORE that bike. I have the 6 inch version and the laser bazooka Kaneda fig, but I've always wanted the 1/6 bike. It's a cyberpunk icon.

Love your character too. An excellent cyberpunk style character. Getting blade runner vibes off her.
