LOTR King Of The Dead Finished, Glow In The Dark Pics Too

This is the King of the Dead known as the Oathbreakers or Mountain Men that Strider/Aragorn visits in the Cursed Mountains to claim his right to free their souls if they join him in this war to destroy Sauron as he is rightful heir to the throne of Gondor and it was his relative Isildur who cursed the Mountain Men for betraying him by not arriving for 'The War Of The Last Alliance' where he cut The One Ring from Sauron's hand. I DECIDED TO EXPOSE PARTS OF HIS ROTTING CORPSE TO MAKE HIM EVEN MORE INTERESTING, IT WAS A LOT OF EXTRA WORK THAT REQUIRED A COMPLETELY HAND BUILT BODY BUT WORTH IT I THINK:







I EVEN GAVE HIM ROTTING INTERNAL ORGANS UNDER HIS RIBCAGE:



THINK OF IT AS THE LEFT (HIS) SIDE OF THE COFFIN/BURIAL MOUND LEAKS CAUSING THE EXTRA DAMAGE TO HIS CLOTHES AND BODY:















ARMOUR AND WEAPONS INSPIRED BY THE BRONZE AGE HENCE THE GREEN PATINA :

Wow. Not that there was ever any real doubt, but this really turned out great, in both "modes." Love it. And it works beautifully with our other LOTR figures.

They look so great and grizzly, especially that plant like, mossy organic fabric and beard hanging out there, nasty.

Imagine hanging both of them onto a rotating ceiling fan at night, hunting each other for eternity. :p

Cheers davidd! Just checked and as I guessed I have 11540 posts on OSW which goes to show how much work I did on that site before I came here! As I recall I have/had over 11 pages for a list of my thread titles alone, those are long arse pages too...

Sorry, I didn't see the final photos earlier! This turned out spectacularly! So glad I clicked to check, really awesome work. I can't even imagine having the patience with all those wires. It was worth it though!

Wow. I'm speechless at the amount of work that went into this, and the detail. Truly creepy, which is very difficult to do with miniatures.

I love the "regular" version, but damn the glowing effect works so well, it looks like the movie CGI! Brilliant work once again, pushing back the limits on each of your custom figures, that's so so awesome.

Holy cow! This guy is amazing. All of your efforts really paid off, and the dearth of photos really shows how much work went into this. So cool the glow in the dark paint. He’s magnificent.

Thank you all so much!! I try to push the boundaries a bit with my builds to keep them challenging and interesting to work on, trying out new ideas etc..

Excellent build especially the gory skeleton parts. And cool glowing effects!
Reminded me of my AD&D days when we encountered the Lich King, good times.

Thanks rollo! Funnily enough I used a 1/4 scale (I think) full metal Lich King helmet I found randomly on eBay years ago to make my first version of a 1/6 Sauron from The Hobbit movies some years ago.

Great work, created by a real LOTR fan. As far as I remember, the king was much larger than Aragorn. But that would be hard to transfer to a 1/6 scale.

Thanks Bundy! Just rewatched it, hard to tell tbh, it's all camera angles and perspective in this scene and he seems to be sort of hovering. I could have easily made him taller and still can so thanks for pointing it out. Have a look at this extended scene with him and let me know what you think; it's worth it just for Gimli's reactions to the ghosts!  And SO many skulls! I certainly didn't remember that! Might have to make him a dio now too! And sadly shorten his great beard...

Fantastic Work ! That remembers me to the figures of the 80´. I had a monster figure that glows in the dark... Frankenstein ?  Thanks for to give me back the reminder of my childhood
