I expected this when I read the product name. Didn't they do a gladiator Russell Crowe already? Now we get three general versions. In general, I'd say one can never have enough Russell Crowe, but I've actually got my Russell Crowe needs covered. Besides, I don't think this is the best likeness. Still, must be nice for those who would still like to add one (or more) to their collection, or are fans of the cool-looking but otherwise immensely flawed film. Speaking of which, it seems to be movie-accurate (or one of the sets anyway, I'd imagine), although I haven't checked in detail. They seem to be using a CooModel body, but with seamless arms, which is a nice touch for those exposed elbows. I find the recreation of the Roman saddle very cool, although they already did something very much like it for their Persian cavalry set. Oh wait, should there be stirrups?

There's been multiple versions of this from different companies over the years, including ACI. But, for the love of god, can these companies please hire someone who actually knows how to make a Russell Crowe head that doesn't make his eyes so close together. For crying out loud, even when he was "fit" they always make him look like a cross-eyed pig-face, it's absolutely ridiculous. NOT ONE decent Maximus head sculpt in 10 + years of figures.

LOL. I agree, it was always a little off. But I think there have been slightly better versions, and what I find surprising is that these (by HH/HY) have not necessarily been an improvement.

Agree, he looks more like a Randall Crews than a Russel Crowe. But beautiful armor. Don't need him fortunately.

You could design a novel cover with all your Russell Crowes fighting and call it "A Murder of Crowes - An antique crime thriller" or something.

I like that the horse is a less refined, hardy looking beast, more like sturdy native ponies, but the glaringly awful anatomy doesn’t quite make up for it, not to mention the tack! They’ve at least tried to be accurate, but the Romans were rather famous for riding without stirrups as the design of their saddles kept you nicely secure.

This just makes me revisit all the things I hated about the movie. One thing I didn't hate was Russell Crowe and HHModel managed to screw that up too.  Doesn't even remotely resemble Russ.
