Calvin's Custom showcases new 1/6th Futuristic Military Armor Set @ B.O.A.T, ACGHK 2018

Many of you may know Calvin Lo from the "old site." He's a brilliant designer, customizer, and all around cool guy. He has some new futuristic motor-cycles and weapons currently being made under a Kickstarter program (I happen to be one of those involved in that), that look absolutely amazing. Anyway, here is some further news I found from Toyhaven:

Calvin's Custom was invited by Winson Ma @ Winson Classic Creation to take part in the 2nd B.O.A.T (Both of the Art & Toys Fair) @ the 20th ACGHK (Hong Kong's animation, comics and game conference) 2018.

Being the first ever branded Toy Fair booth in his career, Calvin spent 3 consecutive days with 2hrs sleep a day to create 10 brand new fully painted custom pieces for the showcase.



Despite the serious lack of sleep with an non-functional brain, he was very happy to have a mini gathering at the booth on the first day of the show, including designer friend such as Kevin Li of Darkcrown Toys, Kevin's buddies in the industry, Jiuan from Jiuan Studio (1/6 full metal 100% handmade Samurai Armor) and ZIPCOLO a.k.a Guangyu Shi​, fellow veteran on OSW, as well as Howard Chan the Great, J.C.Hong and his amazing crew and many new friends.

With the aim to give shelved old figures a "second life", Calvin is showcasing and will be releasing a set of futuristic armor set, available for preorder on his facebook page Calvin's Custom soon after the show, commission customs using the set are also welcomed.

Good to see him get the recognition he deserves.

Man... That guy does stellar work and shares it (or used to) freely. I admire that.

Always been a fan, now he's signing autographs! LOL. I wish him luck with all the industry politics but if he can cope with that he's golden as his talent is phenomenal. Love the bikes! That last figure is quite striking too, I'm not mentioning the others only because I've seen and commented, nominated etc.. them before I can't remember these guys though, they look awesome too! I know he did an angel series of figures but different from these, anyone have any more pics of them? Cheers for posting Stryker!

Those last pics posted by Shovelchop are the ones I'm involved with. I can't wait to get my black and red motopcycle (as they are called by Calvin), and give it to Lobo. It's going to be f'ing awesome!. Can't wait to see the futuristic weapons that it comes with as well.

So the bikes are the kickstarter project? Quite appropriate if you get the pun! LOL. They look like something I would build and should have built! If only I could get my thumb out of my arse for all my half built 1/6 bike projects...got the Ghost Rider 2 V-MAX, The Punisher Shovelhead chopper, The T2 H-D Fatboy to finish yet... Just combine the three elements below (3 of my favourite things! Bikes, Skulls and Gatling Guns!) and you have his great design that is also very T4 in design too which I love.

Man, I always love Calvin's designs whenever I see them.  So good on him taking it somewhere, and getting the recognition he deserves.  And he beat me to that cyborg with the exposed skull design!  I had done these last year, but I'm still working on the figure they go with:



And Shovelchop, that bike and that horse look freakin awesome!

Thanks! Built them years ago but still love em lol. Made the 1/6 skeleton horse from a 1/4 skeleton horse, now that was a lot of work! Found out months later they actually made a 1/6 skeleton horse! DOH! Love the cyborg skulls you're making, very cool, makes me think of a BSG Cylon experiment!
