I'll be the first to say it: that head sculpt sucks. If it wasn't attached with a title and that outfit, I'd have no idea that's supposed to Ewan McGregor. Who sculpted this? A one-armed blind person (no offense to one-armed blind people). Hot Toys smoothing out "old" people wrinkles again, reshaping the head completely, and apparently he went and got his hair cut and styled. Just lazy.

And here I was hoping to bash the Ewan McGregor sea otter spectator version:



He also looks a bit like Mark Hamil and Russel Crowe. Which would be totally fine if it was one of those unnamed Damtoys soldier figures, letting us guess the actor behind the sculpt.

My theory is they had many reference pics but of multiple different persons. Maybe they accidentally googled Obi Wan Cosplays. And then they sculpted someone in between.

I find hot toys bearded sculpts always look weird. I think it's cause I see the hard plastic part as a solid piece sticking out rather than the beard

I completely agree.
But I love everything else about this! Arrgh! Movable eyes and base especially. Ooph. The hair and beard really are terrible though...

LOL... at the very first glance of the very first photo, I thought "how cool." But as I looked more carefully, especially at the larger photos, I have to agree, they did not hit this nail on the head (or maybe they hit it so much they misshaped it). Before Mark's analysis, I was wondering if this was a side effect of the the movable eyes (which I spotted before reading the description). It probably plays a role, but it's hardly the only distracting thing going on.

Yeah, if it actually LOOKED like Ewan I'd be interested, but $295 is steep for something this far off (especially when the likeness is 90% of what makes these things sell).
