Hmm, definitely a fantasy piece, and not plausible enough for me (appreciation of the real thing gets in the way of liking this). Perhaps it is based on some game or movie? The head seems very similar to that of a similarly-themed figure that came out recently, DAM's Alexios (also fantastical but I think better source design).

Yeah, I can see possibly using this as a sort of fantasy Odysseus, but why WHY do these companies insist on going all out for the costumes and then cheap out on some hideous body...

Load of bollocks. A slight change to make the helmet look like a Chalcidian. Give him a tube-and-yoke style corselet. Exchange the nonsense around his waist for pteruges and get rid of the wrist guards. Give him back his spear and shield.

Agreed. A fantasy figure for sure, but HHModel & Haoyu Toys usually base their figures on something-a movie (Such as Ben-Hur, Spartacus, Cleopatra, Troy, etc.) or game (as with their figure “Alexios”).

Anyone want to venture a guess as to what this figure was based on?
