I don't really do 1/12 dioramas, but those torches look like they'd be perfect for a 1/6 project I had in mind. Wish you could just get the torches by themselves...

Right?? I really like this. That would really look good in my display. I hope mmmtoys are going to be successful with these releases so that they might take it to the 1/6 scale...

I think it wouldn't be too hard to make something similar with styrodur, although the round shape of the gate combined with the relief in it might be a challenge. Should be possible to make the gate from metal profile, although the circular shapes might take effort (and you'll probably have to do soldering).

I think it was Valiarde (but I'm nor sure, could be Ovy or someone else) who made a brick wall with windows part of a cobblestonestreet. With the same materials you can build something like this.

I already have enough other projects, and not really room for this, so it's way down on my list.

I also like these, and wish they had them in sixth scale, although there the size (of that round archway, anyway) might become an issue if one keeps buying such things. Something more feasible, also from a cost perspective, might be high quality color prints, especially embossed ones. There are some eBay and Etsy sellers that have invested in this and the product is not half bad, although it usually comes in relatively small sheets that one would have to put together to create an effective backdrop; also, they tend to be simpler patterns that would basically work like a wall.
