Only $700 for the set on the HT site? Considering what things are costing these days, that seems like a pretty good price.

If you can nab one, you can probably triple your money instantly on the secondary market.

But... year and a half lead time estimate (Dec 2024).

Here’s the breakdown for the different options:

Dewback & Trooper - $700 USD
Dewback (standard) - $455 USD
Dewback (Deluxe) - $485 USD
Trooper - $255

For once relieved I mostly collect Prequels and Clone Wars so I’m not tempted…. ;p

Found this. Looks so good.

I agree, very impressive. The Dewback looks great -- probably much better than the original thing, and maybe better than the digital special edition edit. I love it, but don't have the will to expend the money and space for it. 
I am much more likely to go for the sandtrooper figure, but there is one thing about it I find extremely annoying. For the second time now, Hot Toys has taken a wardrobe mishap and turned it into what they must have imagined to be image canon: the arched brow piece. It is only seen (overlooked by the people in charge of costume) with the leader of the detachment questioning the protagonists in the street. Apart from it being a mistake, none of the other sandtroopers had it -- and if the one(s) on Dewback-back had it, they were too far off to notice. Hot Toys already did this to their first sandtrooper figure, and now they've done it again. It is not too bad but I can't unsee it. Disappointing. 
Ideally, they'd make it an adjustable rubber piece that we can place as we wish, but that would probably be asking too much.
Note, by the way, a potentially disturbing trend. Hot Toys is increasingly pairing figures with hefty or sizable accessories, which would increase costs (or be used as an excuse to do so). Luckily, in this instance, one has a full range of options: Dewback and Sandtrooper, just Dewback (two versions), or just Sandtrooper. But it isn't always so. Would the "Death Star Trooper" come either with or without the control panel array?

I’m not sure about the teeth on the open-mouth version for the Dewback. Due to the cost, I’m probably going to have to pass; my finances aren’t what they used to be.

If you ever had someone present you with one of these Dewbacks, you'd have to eat these words, because you never look a gift Dewback in the teeth!

Supercool, but yea, this guy looks big! Looks to be as long as the batpod!

I really like their compromise solution to the posability issue for animals-- where full articulation would be unwieldy, provide at least some swappable parts like the alternate head and leg.  Theoretically, this makes it feasible to display two of them together, but who's got the $ and the space to display two of these?
