Thanks! Here are some quickly built arms, they'll all be sprayed and brushed to match each other. If paint does chip off the blue it won't be very noticeable as it should look like reflected light from all the blue EL-Wire I'll be installing. I have a black version of that white multijointed arm, I just need to find it!LOL. The nubs are going to be cut off the baby claw arms.

Looking great. I can’t wait to see the gantry in action. Are you going to use Tony, Pepper, or both in this thing?

Just Tony, Pepper is only in the thread as she is also an IM build with minor mods so no point in separate thread for her, sorry for any confusion! Made her new crotch armour and started painting it along with her mask; I also found that black ratcheted multiposable arm for the gantry.

No I hadn't actually, nice set!
I went a bit bigger and quite a bit more complex a few years back now and built a 1/6 Punisher themed MECH suit out of Bionicles, a carved up and seriously dremelled out large Hasbro(?) Titans series Hulkbuster, 5mm Allen bolts and magnets etc.. with a scratch built Punisher pilot who fits inside while keeping it still fully articulated. Took a year to build and finished it before Hot Toys revised their HB figure to be able to fit a full sized Iron Man inside... Wink coincidence? I joke that it was my fault they redesigned it and caused a year delay on its release! Laughing

More memory lane in a way as I finally started to rebuild my Iron Samurai after taking loads of stuff off him years ago since members on OSW said he was too complex i.e. busy visually so I've had to repaint the armour to cover up all the removed parts' glue spots and redo the gold trim, I need to clear coat everything including the Pepper Rescue armour face shield, groin armour and boots once painted properly (I'm going to paint the unmasked areas silver). Did some work on Rescue as you can see, not finished but getting there; I'll swap out her hands for smaller ones as well. I'm waiting on some gel super glue so I can install the EL-Wire into the gantry, I removed the LED harness complete with switch and power source so will be great in a custom build in the future. I finished the four original mechanical arms of the gantry too so the are all articulated and like the others awaiting paint.

Is there such a thing as too complex? I think the figures and display are beautifully done.

Apparently! LOL. I was referring to the Iron Samurai in his original guise, it was one of those dreaded threads where I'd done loads of work to make him, then loads of work to do finished pictures of him (I even put my TV on it's side and worked out how to get pictures from my computer onto my precariously balanced TV as backdrops for the photo shoot). But when I posted the thread I had lots of visits from members but not a single comment! Eventually I got so frustrated I posted something like: 'WTF? not one comment? What's wrong?' and members told me he was too complicated to look at. I'll find some pics from that thread and post them here tomorrow with a link for you to see what you think Wink . Off to bed now... Cheers by the way! Had you seen my Punisher MECH before?

That Punisher Mech was amazing! And great job on Pepper — she looks so cool like that, already. It’ll be even better once she’s all painted up and shiny.

Thanks GF! I finally found the Iron Samurai (Iron Man Samurai/Chinese god fusion mix, medieval Asian)
thread and pics, also the Medieval War Machine I built to go with it (Angel of Death). To be fair he is a bit mental but he was working with steam power, flammable volcanic gases and gunpowder since he'd got dumped in 1400's Japan chasing the Mandarin through a time wormhole created by the Time Ring. War Machine jumped in too late and ended up in 1400's Europe during the battle of Agincourt before making his way to Asia to find Tony who was posing as a feudal Samurai lord and Ronin before chasing the Mandarin to China, hence the Chinese influences too.

I, too, hadn't seen these before. They are awesome. Both beautifully executed and very creatively conceived, not to mention all the technical skill and know-how that would have been required to make them work. The background story is wild, but is that necessarily a bad thing? I stand by my preliminary assessment -- when it comes to your art, you should not let yourself be dissuaded by comments of those of us (myself included at times) who are often far less creative and imaginative than yourself. We mean well, to be sure, but ultimately you know what you're doing, and these are your creations.

Thanks loads guys! I got the Iron Samurai all lacquered up, glued back together, accessories fitted and fixed then put back on his dio that has been missing him for years now! I'm actually happier with this toned down look tbh. Pictured as I have him displayed with the others and some clearer close ups of War Machines collapsible weapons systems (automatic crossbow and flechette launcher) plus some pics of the Fire Ninja's mods done after the thread. No light up gimmicks shown sorry, my back's playing up and I couldn't hook up all the EL-Wire drivers or reach the switches so you'll just have to imagine those.

LOL! No chance of touching them again, got way too much stuff to do on this thread alone with another hundred builds following those!! The curtains come with the house so not my taste but at least they have a vague Asian vibe to them with the sort of water colour look depicting almost Japanese jasmine, blossoms etc... Very Happy

Mmm, bunch of stuff there I've not seen before, you've been a busy bee! I have too, but for the wrong reasons. Hit a menu item I shouldn't have after installing a new graphics card in my PC, it royally screwed it and I had to start from scratch. Luckily, I still had my hard drive and could wipe my SSD and re-clone my hard drive onto it. Then, I had a display port cable fail on me and found the mains lead for my monitor was dodgy. So glad it all happened last week, as tomorrow that hard drive is going in my niece's new PC I'm building for her.

All good fun, LOL!

I'd wondered where you'd been hiding! LOL. Bad luck mate, been having PC issues myself, trying to install win10 64bit on win10 32bit is a bloody nightmare when your bios won't recognise any usb drives including my back up HDD! Tried installing new drivers for this PC from Dell themselves and it very nearly killed the PC, I only managed to save it with a recovery cdrom! Still won't recognise anything in bios including the main HDD now! Still starts up okay thank goodness, no idea how!LOL.

Done more work on Rescue, giving her modified Hasbro hands that are slightly smaller than the HT IM ones and way smaller than the skeletal like UM ones so they're the right size for a lady. Also decided to paint the entire lower jaw of the helmet red to match some Rescue reference pics and make the helmet look less masculine as the jaw is less prominent in a darker colour. I also hand sawed around 40 steel screws to fill in the holes on the Bionicle bits of the gantry's new arms I made. Bastard neighbour decided to use his circular saw on MDF on a Sunday afternoon while I was purposely trying to be quiet by using a hacksaw! I yelled all kinds of hell at him when he took a break. Every bloody day at 14:00 he starts the electric saw on MDF, he's retired, what the hell is he up to? They go to bed at 22:00 on the dot and get up at 06:00 on the dot everyday, noisy washing line goes up the same time everyday etc.. I'm living next to f***ing robots!!
I really want to throw a grenade over the wall some days! Especially when he gets his noisy ladder out to clean his walls and roof...bonkers.. rant over...

What is your BIOS? Do you even have the right one installed? I'd look for whatever model of motherboard you have and make sure you have the right BIOS installed. Do you have an .iso for the version of Windows you're trying to install? If you get one then you can wipe the 32bit one and install the 64bit in its place. Or that should be what would happen. Does your current BIOS even support 64bit?

If I were you, I'd be seriously considering jacking the PC you have in and starting anew from the ground up, it's the only way to ensure that that you get will work. If you go for an AMD AM3+ board and processor CCL are doing these at knock down prices as they're being phased out in favour of the AMD Ryzen AM4 boards. The AM3+ ones are just as good only a lot cheaper. Seriously, give CCL a look see.

I upgraded the hard drive, CPU and graphics card in mine and it is right up there with the best now, and for half the money.

You have been busy. I like the color elements on her helmet. That first cosplayer image armor looks great. I like the battle-damage she was able to pull off; are you going for that look, or the pristine, shiny look? Either one would be pretty cool.

All parts are OEM except GC, HDD (bigger) and processor (replaced a broken one but it's 64 bit). I'm trying to install the 64bit windows but need bios to be able to read the flashdrive. I can't build anything as I'm skint lol!.

Cheers Mark! I'll be sticking to a new suit look.

Hope you figure out the computer drama to your satisfaction. Seems like you still found time to make more progress on this impressive project. I second what Mark said, and also very impressed by the real-hair helmeted head sculpt.

The processor may be 64bit, but, are you sure the motherboard and BIOS are? You can't always fit a Ferrari engine into a Beetle. I hope you find something workable till you can afford something else.

I can't take the credit for the PP helmeted head as it came that way, it's either the HT version or the clone, I have both but think the clone looked slightly better but can't remember which one this is! LOL.

Not sure now about the processor, thought I'd replaced it with a stock one though so the rest should support it.

There will always be something. When I tried to swap my hard drives over, I forgot that I'd configured the old HDD as RAID, SSD's can't be that. However Windows would only boot if the HDD was RAID. Took me ages to find a simple command line that would fix that.

The answers are there, it just takes forever to find the right one

I'm just leaving the pc 'as is' for the moment.

Finished Rescue, might do the odd touch up like on her boots.
Painted all the gantry arms black, they still need to be airbrushed a graphite metallic. Done half the tedious EL-Wire work using regular super glue very carefully as the gel stuff I bought is garbage! It probably needs an accelerator or something. The bloody wire shorted out on me when I went to test it after all that work (and loss of finger tips) which is not ideal... I seem to have found the trouble spot but there's not quick permanent fix with this stuff so I'll just try gluing in place there to keep the internal micro wires connected, one must have broken.

Whoah! Very cool. Pepper turned out great, and the light on the gantry are looking awesome.

Some glues can be hit or miss, that’s for sure. I gave up on Loctite just recently. Switched over to Gorilla Glue, and so far so good.
