Stryker, I just edited the thread above yours, I'll do some testing tonight. The important thing is to not panic. *breathing deeply* Laughing

Good luck.

After I posted in the sticky pic posting thread one of them mysteriously showed again, but the others are still missing. This is not the disaster of the last time, when everything disappeared. It's just a few random ones. I'm using this post to repost some of those missing pics to see if anyone can see them here.

Can you see these:

On preview I can't see any of them and they are also the ones not showing up (for me) on the original thread.

Let me know if you can see them. Thanks for the help!

Yes.  I see them in your post and also in the quoted reply.

Okay, thanks to you both for checking. I figured out it was on my end. Cleared my caches and now everything is showing. Smile Moving on... Embarassed

My pleasure.

If anyone else experiences a similar issue, try clearing out your browser's cache first.

I recommend using CCleaner.  It'll clear out browser's cache (i.e. cookies, temporary internet files, etc.), but you have control over how much/what it can clear out as well (for those who need control, etc. on their PC and browsers).

I use it daily so it'll clear all the soft core classic porn sites I visit along with numerous searches for classic/retro/vintage lingerie models and such.

Softcore?! What's that junior level stuff? Cool Very Happy

Seriously, though, thanks again for checking and for the advice. The weird thing is, I have an older ipad and clearing the cache didn't work on that one. The missing pics are still missing there. Ah well, two out of three is good enough, I guess!

How old is the older iPad?

Is it current with all iPad updates including the current latest browser?

It's only two years old and is the second gen. ipad pro. It is not on the latest IOS update (11.3.1) because I've been hearing nightmarish things about 11.3 and .1, but it is on the one just before that 11.2.6. However, ironically, my newer ipad pro, is actually on an older IOS 11.2.2 and is working fine with the pics.

I just checked my phone which is also on IOS 11.2.6 and that is also not working with the pics, so I think that might be it. It's not going to make me update though. Don't get me started on Apple's Russian roulette updating process. I never update until I hear things are relatively stable, and the latest reports have been pretty horrible.

PC is on latest updates for Win7.

Yeah. Sadly, since Steve Jobs passing, Apple has become more and more like Microsoft, rushing out bug-filled updates and creating more problems then they fix. I miss Steve; but, I'll never go back to anything Windows based.

IMHO . . .

The OS and updates regardless of platform are always filled with bugs to ensure users are dependent on fixes, patches, and updates as well as upgrades.

It's all about the $ . . . period.

The same applies in 1:6 as well. It's a matter of nuances and perspectives.

For those of you who enjoy and prefer Apple, that's fine.

I'm primarily a Windows and Android user.

It's not a matter of conforming like wearing Spanx underwear. I just go with what I know and familiar with and not necessarily because it's a status symbol or trendy . . . like Spanx underwear.

It wasn’t always that way when Jobs was around. Their products were virtually bug-free, hence the ridiculous cost, and he made sure of it. The people running it since his passing operate more like Gates (intentionally building in problems for the very reason you described — money). I’ve had the same iMac now for 15 years, and up until a few years ago, it was running the same OS, now I’ve upgraded I don’t know how many times.

I purchased my parents a MAC around 2005 or 2006 when the very first Intel chipset were used for a MAC.

That MAC lasted until last year. I got them another MAC.

Since I've been using a PC (since 1998), I upgraded a total of six times (currently on Windows 10).

My very first smartphone was a Samsung S3 acquired in 2012. I've been using a Samsung J7 since last year when I changed to a prepaid mobile plan to save $.

With my new job, I can buy a Samsung Galaxy S9 for an obscene low price due to a corporate pricing perk.

I'm equal opportunity on the platforms. Used to Windows for desktops/laptops, but liked the Apple portable device features and ability to easily import lossless music which is important to me. The devices and PCs usually play well with each other, but I admit Apple has gotten more and more frustrating and convoluted with time. Their music player (on ITunes and IOS) used to be a thing of beauty and both are now a mess. On the devices I've switched to third party apps to help organize my music which is rapidly pushing 100gb.

If IOS11.4 actually includes the long promised Airplay2, and it works without too many fatal bugs, then I may finally update.

Have you heard Apple is going to be eliminating iTunes? I don’t do Pandora or any of those other pay as you go services (if I like an album, I buy it), so I don’t know what I’m going to do about finding music once that’s gone.

Well, if they eliminate the ability for me to import music from CDs into lossless formats and transfer them on to my devices, I will probably call it quits. Yes, I do prefer CD quality or better, and I can tell the difference compared to the crappy mp3 or AAC formats all the services try to push. Pushed through Airplay to a good quality stereo system it is impressive sound compared to Bluetooth. Having most of my extensive collection on a single device in true digital lossless quality was a dream come true but perhaps those days are numbered.

I still buy CDs (classical/opera/jazz/some soundtracks), upload them losslessly to iTunes and then transfer to my devices. I'll only buy stuff directly from iTunes if it's what I consider "disposable" music where I don't care about having a hard copy that I own forever. Kind of a luddite I guess!

CCleaner is also availble for Macs: https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner-mac

I concur with DFC, it is well worth getting.

It's CD or bust for me, why anyone would want to play quality music through just one speaker is beyond me. They record them in stereo and they should be played that way. My hifi even has a tape deck!

Yep. Same for me. I struggled for years to switch from actual LP to CD, and refuse to diminish the quality down to MP3 levels on music that is truly important to me. Some of these current pop songs, I don’t care as much, but any artist whose music is quality (particularly classical and jazz), I won’t settle for anything less than the CD.

Interesting take.

I exclusively buy CDs too. I maintain several players in our house and in all my cars. I don't mind changing discs. I don't stream music except to the bluetooth speakers in the light fixture of the master bath. Sometimes I'll listen to tunes while in the shower.

One thing I've come to like, however, is that almost every CD you purchase on Amazon comes with a digital download (of fair quality) that instantly appears on my phone. If I need a pile of tunes on a mobile devise, I'm covered.

I grew to despise iTunes early on. Their lossy-as-hell AAC format is terrible and the iTunes software is about as intuitive as rocket science. alien Just never could get the hang of it.

Apple's going to piss off a bunch of people if the do away with iTunes...but, not me.

Vinyl is on the up, but, it's so expensive and I never trusted myself with it. CD's are easier to look after and handle and turntables with automatic arms are few and far between and those decks probably cost.

CHEERS!
