In view of some users' difficulties, we have decided to post a reference thread with the recommended image hosting procedure for images from specific sites. We will expand the coverage over time as we verify the most stable and simple way(s) of posting the images.

Servimg

Copy image (not thumbnail) BBCode from Servimg and simply paste into the text box for your post. Or copy image direct link from Servimg and paste into the "Insert Image" function. You could also paste the BBCode into the "Insert Image" function, but that is not recommended.

Flickr

Click on the Share button for your photo in Flickr, select BBCode, copy the generated code, and simply paste it into the text box for your post. You could also paste the BBCode into the "Insert Image" function, but that is not recommended. NOTE: If posting a GIF, make sure you select "original size" from the drop down menu after clicking on the download button in Flickr.

Fotki

Click on the photo of your choice, click on "share", choose "more sharing options", select "code for forums (secure link)", allow the webpage to access your clipboard when prompted, copy "code for forums (secure link)", and simply paste it into the text box for your post.

Imgur

Copy the BBCode from Imgur and simply paste it into the text box for your post. Do not paste the code into the "Insert Image" function.

Photobucket

Copy the direct link from Photobucket and paste it into the "Insert Image" function. If you are experiencing problems viewing Photobucket images posted on this forum, see NOTE below.

Notes on viewing Photobucket images posted on this forum.

Windows/PC: When using Firefox in Windows 10 and not seeing any images posted here from Photobucket, disable one of the two photobucket image fix add-ons, "Photobucket Embedded Image Fix" (not "photobucket embed fix"), to get them to work.

Apple/Mac: When using Mac products (e.g., iPad) and not seeing some or all of the images posted here from Photobucket, make sure you have cleared your cache and cookies and try again.

Images turning sideways issue.
Apparently this has something to do with EFIX data stored in digital images. If your image was processed in a graphics software and saved in a particular orientation, and/or if the EFIX data is removed, it should display correctly. For a discussion of the issue see HERE, with tips for fixing it HERE. In short, quoting from the last link:

To re-orient your photos, try any of these solutions:
  • Open the image in an image-editing program that displays EXIF information, such as Adobe Photoshop or the free IrfanView. In IrfanView, the Image > Information command shows basic data, and a button at the bottom of the window opens a separate EXIF data display. If the image does not show EXIF data, then the software cannot orient it properly.

  • Use Windows Explorer to modify or remove EXIF data. Right-click the image and select Details to reveal a screen with metadata, including EXIF data, that you can adjust if the image supports it.

  • Force a preferred orientation. Rotate the image, then save it. That process reconstructs the image along the requested dimensions.

Some folks seem to still be having trouble posting photos. Here is the easiest way to do it (you have to create a servimg account, as that is what this site uses, first). After that, it's easy; you can post them right from your computer (they will go into a servimg folder allocated to your username).

1. Select "Host an Image" from the Menu bar above.

2. Select hit "Select files +"

3. Select your image from wherever it's located on your hard-drive

4. Select "Send all" -- this will put the image into your servimg folder

5. Make sure your cursor is at the entry you point you want, and select "Insert all".

... and voila:

You can actually select 3 images at one time and do the same procedure as above.

1. from the Message bar, select "Host an Image":

2. Then hit "Select files +"

3. Find the files you want to upload (wherever they may be) and select them (unless you get a pay account from servimg, you can only select 3 files at a time):

You should now see the three images you selected in the "Host an Image" window.

4. To put them in your message select "send all" (make sure your cursor is where you want it to be; you can actually click on the message window itself -- where you type -- to ensure the cursors location. This will close the Host an Image window, but that's okay, because when you click on the "host an image" button again, all your information you just put in that box will be there):

RECOMMENDED IMAGE POSTING PROCEDURES Scree184

You will see your files loading (a blue bar shows the progress). When the images are done loading there will be a bunch of code to indicate the images are ready to be inserted:

RECOMMENDED IMAGE POSTING PROCEDURES Scree185

5. Select "insert all":

RECOMMENDED IMAGE POSTING PROCEDURES Scree186

6. The files will be placed in the Message box like this:

RECOMMENDED IMAGE POSTING PROCEDURES Scree188

The cursor should be on the next line below the picture codes.

7. You do not need to POST your message yet. After you "insert all" from the "host an image" window, select "Remove all". The images you just put into your message box will disappear from the "host an image" window, and then you can continue to select the next three images following the above procedures. You can do this over and over until you have loaded all your pictures -- it's time consuming, but you'll get faster the more you do this and you can.

RECOMMENDED IMAGE POSTING PROCEDURES Scree187

Note: If you plan to have text between pictures, then you should only select those image files that pertain to each section of text at any one time. So if you have text that pertains to only 2 photos -- write your text, only select those 2; post them following the above procedures -- write your text for the next set of photos, etc.

When I want to clear things, I use CCleaner rather than doing it within the browser. CCLeaner always completely clears everything and nothing is left hanging around.

If you don't already have it, download it from here:

https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/download

Install it and run it and see what happens to your pics then. The free version will be enough. I use it all the time.

CHEERS!
