To anyone who is willing to relay a message for me to lost friends at OSW...

Hey everyone!
I received an email telling me I have a new private message from tpa05 (John) at OSW. Unfortunately, I am completely unable to do anything on the site after logging on. I tried to respond and after 20 minutes and 2 sentences, the page crashed and what I had typed was gone.
I'm asking if anyone who still accesses the site would be willing to let old friends know that I would love to jump on and check out their work (there's plenty of love to share. ) but I just can't do anything.
I still love the old place, but since our new site works so well, I have to say that I will miss anyone who hasn't come over, the matter is simply out of my hands.
Thanks!
I really appreciate it!

I will try to relay your message to him and see what can be done to reestablish contact.

Thanks!
Stryker also offered to try so I will call this thread completed.
I appreciate it.
Don't know why I can't use the site, but I like the new home, so I'm not really putting much effort into sorting it out.
It would be nice if he comes over.

I sent the message. It’s odd, sometimes I can get on over there, other times... not so much. But this time I did.

Welcome. Perhaps he will.

I keep trying to go there but it keeps telling me my password isn't correct. Then I do the "forgot password" deal and it still won't let me in. That place is good as dead as far as I'm concerned.

I am sorry to hear of your troubles. If there's something with which we can help (like reach out to someone), do let us know.

I hope it's not an indicator of some users being blackballed by the new (or old) powers that be.

Ok, let's not dive into conspiracy theories. Smile

I just tried it again.....finally got the resend password to work. Got back in and tried to change the password back. It refuses to change the password. So now I'm stuck with some gibberish password if I want to go to the OSW.

I swear, I feel more infected everytime I go there now. Probably in my best interest to just stop going altogether.

I had the exact same experience, for weeks. Had to request and use the gibberish password, and it would work for a seemingly random amount of time -- sometimes perhaps as much as a week, sometimes as little as a day. I was finally able to set a real password, which has worked so far, but it happened after weeks of trying and I had pretty much given hope. At the time I imagined this to be indicative of the old forum overcoming its tech woes. But I keep hearing about the same problems since, and now I wonder whether perhaps Li/Lee from VS had not personally intervened to fix my situation (since we were communicating regarding the issues on a frequent basis). I know Li/Lee fixed Pukingdog's login issue (he wasn't able to log in at all) -- for awhile! -- and Li/Lee offered to "recover" someone else's account for them (that member could not use his original account any longer) -- hence my suspicion. That might explain why these issues are still plaguing other members. So contacting Li/Lee and explaining your situation might help.

I'll consider it but I participate here much more than there. I can always fix the password issue with the gibberish temp password if necessary. I wasn't much for that place lately with its regards to favoritism to a certain 1/6th vendor's wishes to erase any negative feedback against him, regardless of whether it was true or not.

Here, the "air" is much cleaner and easier to breathe. Smile

A bit of conspiracy (or paranoia) is good and healthy.
