Deep Sea Diving Suit For Iron Man Started WIP. Back On It Again..

Okay decided none of that's going to work for his articulated armour, the foam is too rough and fragile, the plastic is all the wrong shape for what I have in mind (the more curved/spherical armour) so I just ordered 20 of these odd things that are the perfect colour, shape and are malleable to be cut up and bent etc..

LOL, wtf.... you continue to win for strangest and most creative use of materials, shovelchop!

And oh man, GF.... does this mean that your Fireman secretly moonlights as an dashing deep sea explorer? Does he perchance cavort with RL mermaids?

I'd love to see what you do with those amazing yellow things, other than stress relief.

LOL, I thought they might raise a eyebrows! Only found out about them today, I was looking for 'yellow ball' on ebay in the Toys & Hobbies section and got pages of these for sale. I realised they are perfect and only ended up costing about 70p each.



Nah I use my guns for that... I wonder what would happen if i shot one?

As for how I'll use them, I plan to have them look like or even work like swivel oil bearing armour and segmented armour like the real ADS armours.

I was short on time and watched the four Suit videos at the same time, with the puking eggyolk music in the background. My IQ is now permanently raised by 5.

PS: I now have to think of those yellow capsules. Collected them as a child, they held little toys and figures and were inside chocolate eggs:

LOL! I take it you saw the yellow capsule in the picture of all the plastics I'd gathered for the build? I think the first videos would have raised your IQ by 10 then the puking egg yoke one will have knocked 5 points off!

Those capsules might be interesting leg or arm segments, I guess!

And I am sure that's exactly what happened with the IQ. Still better than just watching the puking egg yolks.

I'd never heard of them until I googled it right now, basically early Japanese MECHA kits and game figures 1980's-1990's. I think MECHA in general have always been a big inspiration for my builds and designs of many modern and retro movies although I don't think I've ever technically owned an original Japanese designed one. Got lots of ZOIDS and Robotech figures though and some Gundams so I guess they're all MECHA.

Got some of the lego parts delivered at least, the track bits, not easy finding four matching sets the right size and colour etc.. for a sane price especially all in one lot on ebay! Luckily I did and these are them thrown together quickly to show you what I'm planning...

Okay, I’m curious. Are the tracks to be able to move along the ocean floor? I thought the “jets” on the IM suit would handle mobility issues?

Maybe he is amphibian and the tracks will help on land. Although the jet propulsion should obviate this. Anyway, I feel the added options could work as back ups.

All good points guys! I have noticed while watching far too many underwater archaeology programs/documentaries that having any form of propulsion like jets, impellers and even flippers near the sea floor will cause serious silt disturbances like an underwater sandstorm, my thinking is that since he would only be able to move slowly due to the water pressure, the tracks would help with visibility once he's on the seabed investigating things like geology and recovery operations since everything tends to sink to the bottom. The thrusters/impellers would be used for faster spacial navigation/travel in the open ocean like in the video 'Flight Of The Aquanaut' above. It's all just supposition by me as I'm not a diver, I did speargun hunting as a kid/teenager but that was with a snorkel as it is illegal to use scuba for hunting in Greece.

Nothing exciting, I rebuilt the treads so they have proper clearance underneath and are quite a bit stronger. New parts arrived today, the Bionicle stuff from Germany, the Gatling gun works! You pump the red trigger and air rotates it and launches a projectile repeatedly, I had no idea it could do that. Some nice parts to work with like the chains, hose, spears and all the armour/joint parts but I found myself playing around with the presentation box the most LOL, typical. Waiting on the yellow ball things to make all the basic armour so building a Kotoboukiya ZOIDS Liger Zero at the moment.

Interesting work on the tracks.

More ingenuity at play, love it!

LOL! It's more of a Gatling speargun! because:
1) I can!
2) Big sharks?
3) Giant Squid?
3) Er.. rogue Russian submarines?
4) Grappling lines (that one actually makes sense).
5) Okay... very expensive target practice?

Got a large heavy box from China today, thought it was the KO Thanos I'd ordered, then opened it and went WTF? I'd forgotten about all the yellow yolk balls I'd ordered for this LOL.

LOL. And now I'd love to see what you do with them. KO Thanos is good, but difficult to fit with the nicer new HT head -- see HERE.

Cheers for the heads up literally! I'm thinking of modding his helmet to the far nicer End Game version. I enjoyed the thread! Nice collection of characters from the film, I'm building up a final battle scene slowly with KO statues etc.. as a budget version, starting to look good but no dio or anything like that just glass tables.

Lots and lots of cutting, sawing, dremmelling and gluing!

My creative mojo desrted me this last month so I've been building HMM ZOIDS kits instead, they needed doing anyway, shame to have such expensive kits just taking up room in big boxes.
Back on track for now, trying to do everything at once it seems! , backpack, armour, helmet etc..
