I’ve never understood the need for a site on a handgun. If you’re that bad of a shot, you probably should just get a shotgun. The only reason to get a site on a handgun is because idiots think they look cool — because they’ve seen the idiots in movies with them.

Well, the guns look sharp, whether they're smart or not may be another matter.

The guns themselves look good (just lose the site).

The Desert Eagle was produced mainly for heavy target shooting, meaning you fire on metal targets, often at ranges over 200 meters where the iron sights wont help you, and thats why you need that scope. The extended barrels for the DE where meant for long distance shooting.

While that may have been true in the beginning, the DE has been used in multiple movies and video games as a weapon, and I’m going to guess the 1/6 makers aren’t marketing this as something to be used for 1/6 target shooters, but as a weapon.

Well true, the pistol became famous because of its use in 80s action movies. Still the scope looks like a red-dot sight, its still useful to have because it means you dont have to aim down the regular sights, its much quicker. I also think they did it because it looks cool. I am a bit surprised that they did not make an DE with laser sights yet, like they showed up in some action movies.
