Dioramas in a bookshelf

Hi! I am from Berlin, Germany and just joined this great forum. Two years ago I started collecting 1/6. I love kitbashing and posing the figures.
To start with some 'dioramas' that fit in an ikea bookshelf.

Hello and welcome. Nice collection. What sort of bookshelf are you using, because I am planning to get some new shelf's for my figures and could need some pointers.

Great collection and such a cool way of displaying it. The choice of details and backdrops is excellent, and you give your characters very useful settings for realistic stances. And, on top of that, these fit within bookcase shelves? Nice!

One of the biggest problems in our hobby is the missing room for posing the figures adequately.
So I decided to create these backdrops in bookshelves by using printed posters and textures.

Welcome to OSF! Love your work. What I really like is the clever way you have used forced perspective in such a small area to create truly believable environments for your figures!! They all look amazing, but that office really stands out for me.
Great looking figures too and equipment, the dios you have created really helps show case this too . I look forward to more of your posts.

Wonderful dioramas! I love how you created that extra sense of space and perspective with the backdrops, very cleverly done. 

Agree with others that the photography studio is probably my fave of all the dio's, just so creative and well done, with infinite posing possibilities!

For creating the backdrops i use http://www.wallpaperflare.com with a large variety of free hd wallpapers and https://www.textures.com for textures (with costs).
Some photoshopping and printing at a print shop and it is done.

More great scenes. Obviously, it helps when your backdrop is a vertical wall, and the perspective images only work from specific angles. But they all create a nice visual context for your collection.

Yes, Nancy in Hell and Jane Painkiller are great figures. In fact the figures normaly do'nt stay in the original version very long. At the moment heads and bodies are changed:

Fun to mix and match, isn't it? And you end up with different, more original characters.

Nice mix and match figures. I agree with the Guv — that sort of experimenting is always fun.

There is indeed way to an abundance of good work here, so well done ElBundy, way to make an entrance here!

Probably any single one of these would have been an impressive thread subject by itself, but as others have found above, my favorite is the photo studio. Particularly the monitor screen matching up to what is being photographed -- a clever and convincing detail that sells the reality.

Where your displays are made to fit inside the cube form of an IKEA shelf, that constraint necessarily gets you past the lazy limitation that most of us experience when we are making dioramas to be photographed -- which is just photographing a staged scene from front and center, and the picture border just cuts off what is on the left and the right. But how much more convincing does the picture become when you see a corner, or ideally even two corners, as you do. It's almost like the days of early movie making, when they used to shoot every scene locked in like a proscenium arch theatre stage, and then suddenly they figured out how you could use angles and camera placements to make an impact. Setting up 1/6 side walls (instead of a mere backdrop) takes more work but it's one of the things that make these ELBundy displays much more convincing. Something I myself too frequently fail to do, so it's good to be reminded.

Those are some great dioramas, very well put together too and the figures are fantastic.

One more example for a diorama in an IKEA-Shelf. I tried to create the optical illusion of a corridor on the right by choosing a perspective photo.

Very nice job. Is the hardwood floor a glossy print? Looks just right, as does the wall with the window and posters. Nice selection of furniture and accessories, which really sell the realism. Are they watching Amazon FireTV?
